Re: Cameras with both high and low def streams
Hi carcachute, Thanks for the suggestion. I also have a small PC, a Gigabyte Brix running on Celeron n2807. I posted my config here . Basically I have followed BiloxiGeek's suggestion as I am not very familiar with scripting. May I ask what are the fps of your cameras? My configuration seem to ...

Re: Cameras with both high and low def streams
You could also do what I'm doing, which is to record hi-def video 24/7 directly to disk files and rotate out the oldest ones periodically via a script. On my system this happens entirely outside ZoneMinder. I then use ZoneMinder strictly to monitor the low-def streams. If there is an event, I log ...

Re: How to do motion dect on one stream but record another?
Linking is exactly what you'd do. For lowest CPU load, set the low-resolution camera stream to MJPEG. Put your motion zones in there and set the monitor function to MODECT. The high-resolution stream should then be linked to the low-resolution stream and set to NODECT. You will end up with two ...

Re: Recommended camera for a new installation
I'm got a couple Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I cams that I got from Aliexpress for $85 apiece shipped. Hikvision is a reputable brand BUT you don't get support from them if you buy them gray market through Chinese distributors. Mine have been solid and I'm very happy with them. I use one in 2MP (1080p ...

Re: ZM login from email alert with ZM authentication
I posted on this a couple weeks ago and never heard anything back. I'd like this too, because it otherwise is rather clumsy to check events from e-mail.
It would be an easy fix if I had time to do it.

Re: Looking for a good but cheap IP outdoor Cam to use with
Very happy with my Hikvision DS-CD2032-I bullet cams here. They're 3MP/1080p switchable. Got them at Aliexpress for about $85 apiece. This is the URL for the supplier I used: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2013-Hikvision-Original-infrared-gun-waterproof-network-camera-DS-2CD2032-I-3MP-IR-ip-camera ...

Re: Help setup of IPcam (sricam AP0005)
I do not have this camera, but I have used this web page to find a URL: http://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=Sricam This suggests the URL to use is: http://IPADDRESS/videostream.cgi?rate=0&user=[USERNAME]&pwd=[PASSWORD] Where [USERNAME] and [PASSWORD] are whatever you use to access the camera. Try ...

Re: Dedicated Zoneminder server
There is no real guide to speak of--just the collected experience of others. What type of camera (analog or IP) and resolution/frame rate do you want to achieve? ZoneMinder transcodes all video to individual JPEG files (although there is work underway to change this), so the system load depends on ...

Display logon screen instead of "You don't have permission"
When I click event links in my e-mail, ZoneMinder greets me with "You do not have permission to access this resource." Then I have to go to the URL bar, and access the ZM root to log in, and then try the link again. Is there a way to get ZoneMinder to ask for logon credentials instead of giving me ...

Re: Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I camera image glitches
If I lower the bitrate at the camera, I assume this will limit the FPS..? however, ifI do as you have done, and set the camera FPS lower, it should be less of an issue. ... I'll try playing with the camera settings tonight based on your settings, as you said, I'd rather sacrifice FPS than ...

Re: Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I camera image glitches
I have two of the same camera running 5.2.0 firmware. I get the same "glitches" in two cases when I view the live stream on my computer: 1. If I have the bit rate set so high that the network is dropping packets (which looks like what you're seeing). I see issues above about 3.5mbps. 2. On initial ...

Re: Need replacment ip camera
I'm aware ActiveX isn't on Linux. I use a Mac and the Linux machine runs ZM. To configure Wide Dynamic Range I have to get access to a Windows machine, and only because they are instant-update instead of requiring one press the Save button. With a non-IE browser a couple of the settings don't show ...
