I have had to purge zoneminder from my server after running for several years. I could not resolve this problem and my server was crashing when seemingly when receiving mutiple alarms. I need the server to be up all the time so could not afford the crashes. I will try again when Ubuntu 14.10 comes ...

I upgraded my headless Ubuntu server 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS (64bit). Zoneminder 1.25 was running fine on 12.04. It would seem that Zoneminder upgraded to 1.26 at the same time. Zoneminder still starts in a browser but no video stored or live will play. I suspect it may be because ffmpeg is not ...
