Re: ZM incompatible with bttv 0.9.x ?
D'oh! I thought I had disabled that in my setup some time ago but I looked in the zmconfig.txt file and it was set to "YES" ... after going through the config the long way, it seemed to stick to "NO"... now that I've reinstalled it seems to be working. So save me some embarrassment and delete this ...

ZM incompatible with bttv 0.9.x ?
Hi all-- well all this time I thought I had been running bttv driver version 0.9.13 but the bulk kernel patch didn't apply properly so I was running a stock bttv 0.7.x version. When I finally got the bttv patches applied and rebuilt the kernel, it appears ZM will no longer open the video device: Mar ...

Re: hauppauge 4 input card
re: using xawtv for debugging/testing, I would get really bizarre live displays on my setup, too. I had to set the xawtv "capture" setting to "grabdisplay" ... its other modes being "off" and "overlay" I don't think the video chipset (built-in on my motherboard) is new enough to support overlay ...

Re: ffmpeg and fps issues
yeah I'm just wondering, since it got its frame rate from ZM data/configurations, is there a way to know if ZM is going to feed it a valid framerate argument? Or is there a way in ZM to hard-set a framerate for "Modect" mode, so that it doesn't vary? thanks!

ffmpeg and fps issues
well I'm ignoring the non-320x240 issues for now and falling into the fold :) But I'm wondering how to make proper use of recorded events and mpeg generation with ffmpeg. I had set a Max FPS of 16 but then going to generate an mpeg from an event I got an error: Creating video file Event-15.mpg for ...

Re: bttv driver locking up with geometry change?
ok here's an update, I can recreate the problem everytime I stop and start ZM from the console page. If I stop then start it, the lockup occurs again (this time reporting my real configured numbers of 480x340) and it won't grab the shared memory without my unloading and reloading the bttv module ...

bttv driver locking up with geometry change?
Hi all-- I'm a new ZM user and despite going slightly insane tweaking everything to get it working, I like it! :-) My setup is: ZM 1.8.1, Osprey 200 card, Debian 3.0r1, custom 2.4.24 kernel with bttv 0.9.13 and a simple color camera with composite video output. I noticed that when I would try to ...

Re: Starting from scratch - which cameras?
I'm a new ZM user and have started with a Hauppage (re-badged as Osprey) board and am using a cheap camera from All Electronics. They have a fair number of low-priced cameras, thing is I believe they're all NTSC. But the capture cards can usually handle NTSC or PAL... http://www.allelectronics.com ...
