Re: Record High-res H264 streams 24/7 with low CPU Load
ok, got it working by running by sudo -u www-data zmrecord.sh 7 and changing all the mysql lines to include login details for example mysql -NBqr -u zmuser -pzmpass zm anyways it records the camera and adds events to the log and the cpu usage is next to nothing, my concern before I add it as a ...

Re: Record High-res H264 streams 24/7 with low CPU Load
Hi, my mysql database has a password (as I believe they all do? on a normal ZM installation) I cannot get the script to work even if I put a -u and --password= in every mysql call in the script in plaintext . Yes I realise its dumb to put cleartext passwords in a script, but wanted to see if this ...

Re: Increase in CPU load
Just to play the devils advocate, my system has shown no extra load atall, this has been rolling-upgraded since the storageareas branch was first created, haven't had need to do a fresh install as its just been solid. at the time of upgrade had 4 1080p streams coming in and two smaller CIF streams ...

Re: H265 workaround
no worries, its certinly not a big deal, all works fine on h.264 and if any linux browsers get h.265 support itll be a moot point. Appreciate the reply.

Re: "on-demand" mocord - constant h264 record with modect as-needed?
Yes I replied to the OP as it were and read your post after, I didnt see the point deleting my post, no offence meant. Fwiw the cpu usage dumping the high resolution streams on my particular setup was/is acceptable and a million times better than running the same cameras before the passthrough ...

Re: "on-demand" mocord - constant h264 record with modect as-needed?
May I suggest you do as I do, I dump the high quality stream to disk 24/7 and modect on the smaller stream, this means i have a less cpu intensive stream being analysed for alarms, and if I need better detail (to read a car lisence plate for example) all I do is match the time stamp and look it up ...

H265 workaround
First off thanks to everyone who contributes to zoneminder, upgrade to 1.32 went smooth as silk. I have recently bought a new camera for my system and it does h265, so thought i'd try it out, the bandwith saving is superb. Passthro (storageareas) works fine normal operation with modect works fine ...

Storageareas branch bug reporting
Just a quick question, I have been running this branch on an extra machine for a while now, and Its proving really stable, and aside a few niggles really useable. What is the ettiquete with bug reporting, I dont want to annoy the devs with benign questions, dont want to spam the wrong forum, and ...

Re: zmninja and h.264(stotagelocations) branch
AS above show all events works fine, the only caveat is if you have the high resolution feeds hidden in montage (to save bandwith) they dont show in the events. not a big deal, have just enabled all feeds in montage and it works like a charm.

Re: zmninja and h.264(stotagelocations) branch
sorry perhaps a bad time for you to have a noesy, i was migrating to a new drive a few hours ago and didnt have permissions right for a while so quite a lot of events were simply empty, a few of the cameras listed reboot themselfs randomly which causes issues too (hence the new cameras in similar ...

Re: zmninja and h.264(stotagelocations) branch
I just did a forced web event on monitor 1 and when in zmninja, clicking on monitor and events it is there, and it plays perfectly fine.
annoyingly the pre and post event recoding is corrupted when atempting to view on the web interace but this is nothing to do with zmninja

Re: zmninja and h.264(stotagelocations) branch
I think the reason it perhaps doesnt work is the passthro feeds are set to record and not associated with other monitors, when associated the passthro would brake up the stream to the pre-event, the event, and post-event and one or more of these would get corrupted fairly regular. . so i set it to ...

zmninja and h.264(stotagelocations) branch
Just to say firstoff, use zmninja pro to keep an eye on my wee garage and it works like a champ. I have set up a second server to experiment with the experimental branches of zoneminder (both servers being fed by the same cameras) I have it set up so the low resolution camera feeds are set up ...

Re: How to change camera IP on Ubuntu?
I have the same issue either create a virtual machine with(for example) openbox and install windows xp. Or as its a .exe and not a browser plugin you may get it working under wine.
In my case my cameras are configured using an explorer plugin so i have an xp virtual machine for this task

Re: storageareas .. asks for URL when typing in path
dont know if this file is generated on the fly, or if this is the correct fix (as said am waay out my depth) but
/usr/share/zoneminder/www/skins/classic/views/storage.php
line 59 changed input type from "url" to "text"
seems to work for me.
cheers again
