Re: Is docker lagging behind, and is manual install the recommended install these days?
It really did look like jantman was going to whip up an official image back in this thread. Did that all fall through, or is it still being worked on?

Is docker lagging behind, and is manual install the recommended install these days?
Hey everyone, longtime user and huge advocate of the program you've all created. I had a question about the most preferred way to install. Background: In the past I've created a LXC container and happily manually built out a perfect little Zoneminder ecosystem within it. I was fine with that ...

Events shown in console that dont exist
Hey everyone. I've had a small issue thats been nagging me for a spell. At least a year or so now. My console page shows 2 events that don't actually exist when I go into the event list for that monitor. Events count of 2.jpg No Events.jpg Is there a way I can clean up this discrepancy between the ...

Re: Cannot view events!
Also, it seems that it generates a much higher # of errors when in "High Bandwidth" mode. They don't go away entirely in "Medium Bandwidth" mode, but they are significantly reduced (a few dozen during event playback instead of hundreds). The events also seem to play, instead of playing the first ...

Re: Cannot view events!
Interestingly, it looks like it starts to play the files there, but wildly overruns the # of files that are actually present. Here is an example where I just forced an alarm manually, and looked at the errors that were generated when I went to play it back in the browser. Here is the complete ...

Re: Cannot view events!
Mine is still at the default of "5" for Event digits. Here is a subset of my errors: 2020-08-07 09:04:28 zms_e70 13350 ERR Can't open /pagemaster/zm_storage/events/1/2020-08-07/70/02368-capture.jpg: No such file or directory zm_eventstream.cpp 702 2020-08-07 09:04:28 zms_e70 13350 ERR Can't open ...

Re: Cannot view events!
I too have been fighting an issue as Allan describes on v1.35.5. Since sometime in May, replaying events is broken, and a large number of log entries appear stating that the files do not exist. Like Allan, I too see new entries appearing in that location, and have confirmed permissions are all ...

Cant delete using tickbox selections since update to 1.33.14
After the latest update to v1.33.14, I can no longer delete recordings using the tickboxes in the event lists. Pressing delete leads to the "are you sure you want to delete..." popup, but accepting that message results in an empty page. Button in question below: ZM button.png Some important details ...

New install has artifacts, curious how to look up settings on old machine.
I had an old 16.04 LTS linux install that ran great (no visual tearing, dropouts, etc.) for quite a long time. However a partial-update to that install caused kernel panics and boot failure, so I took it as an opportunity to move to an SSD and update the OS to Ubu 18.04 LTS (the rest of system is ...

Re: Fresh 18.04 LTS Server puking on ZM install
Sorry bbunge, I was not clear. The scripts absolutely did not work on a fresh 18.04 LTS install until I added the "multiverse, restricted, universe" sources. There's no mention of this on the wiki page listing all the scripts, so I wanted to know if that's considered safe/standard practice for ...

Re: Fresh 18.04 LTS Server puking on ZM install
Just an update, I figured since I broke everything so badly already, no harm in trying just about anything. I opted for #2 above (uninstall maria and reinstall from ubuntu source) and managed to get it all running. I just wish I knew what was wrong previously, so I could plop it into the wiki for ...

Re: Fresh 18.04 LTS Server puking on ZM install
I did not install LAMP previously, instead hoping to allow the script in the first post to install it's needed subcomponents under the "apt -y install ...." command. Based on where I am right now, should I: install lamp? uninstall the MariaDB that I'd originally grabbed from their extra repo, rip ...

Fresh 18.04 LTS Server puking on ZM install
Hello! Had a server meltdown and I'm putting everything back together today. With an absolutely pristine 18.04 LTS Server install, the installation fails. I'm doing the install per the 18.04 apache/MariaDB/PHP shell sctript which is: #!/bin/sh clear read -p "This script installs Apache, Mariadb, PHP ...

Re: Update from 1.29 to 1.30 but blank ZM webpage
Good news! Before I nuked my linux server completely, I figured I'd try a last-ditch attempt to avoid that. Basically what I did was employ a scorched-earth approach to the AMP aspects of the LAMP server. Apt-get purge was used profusely, I was very trigger-happy and used probably more wildcards ...

Re: Update from 1.29 to 1.30 but blank ZM webpage
Darn. Well OK I guess I'll burn it all down. Problem is that the machine hosts so much that works still, seems silly to have to torch it all just because ZM doesn't. Oh well, ill back up the various confs just to ease the pain. Do you recommend using MariaDB? I don't know what that offers me ...
