Understood and thanks. I already have the Lorex cameras working with Zoneminder, but I was just trying to find out if there was a specific procedure to get them added to the HCL, and/or a specific person with the responsibility of maintaining it.

Re: Updating Hardware Compatibility List
LOTS of information regarding iSpy, but I was asking specifically about the Zoneminder HCL.
Thanks,
Wayne
P.S. I'm taking a look at iSpy just to play with it, but I don't really have a Windows computer that I could use for this purpose.
Thanks,
Wayne

Updating Hardware Compatibility List
I have two models of Lorex branded IP cameras that seem to be working well in Zoneminder, but there are no Lorex cameras at all in the HCL. Are there procedures for 1 - updating the HCL, and 2 - for testing the cameras for compatibility?
Thanks,
Wayne

Quick question (hopefully) regarding Firefox
Is there any way to have ZM open new tabs in Firefox instead of new windows besides right-click on the link and selecting open in new tab? The problem with this is apparently you cannot close the tab using the "close" link in the pages.
Thanks,
Wayne

I could use some help with multicasting
I have finally got my installation of zoneminder 1.30 working on my Ubuntu 16.04 desktop machine. I fought the installation for several days just to find out that what I saw in the instructions was what I wanted to see and not what was really there. Anyway, that is another story. To have some ...

Re: Blank screen in Firefox after 1.30 install
After I found that using the ip address worked, I checked the hosts file and it is correct. it has entries for 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 (real host name) all the rest of the entries I have two other machines running the same version of linux (Ubuntu 16.04 desktop) with the hosts file like this ...

Re: Blank screen in Firefox after 1.30 install
OK, I found it. After launching Firefox, if I enter the URL as "localhost/zm", I get a completely blank page in return. If I enter "10.1.1.37/zm" (my actual ip address) it works properly and I get the web console.

Blank screen in Firefox after 1.30 install
I have been trying to get 1.30 installed onto my Ubuntu 16.04 desktop system all day. It's been one problem after another, and I'll have to admit that many were self inflicted. But this (hopefully) last one I have been over and over and can't find the reason. I started with a machine that did not ...

ZM 1.30 and Ubuntu distro
Are there any plans to create current release packages for the Ubuntu distros so I can avoid PPA's? PPA's are really too much of a problem, but down the road they have to be manually managed (added, deleted, modified, . . .) where distros do not.

Re: Anyone managed to get Lorex IP cameras working?
I don't know what happened to my original reply, but changing source type to ffmpeg worked like a charm. Now when I get my replacement for the LNB3321-C camera which is an updated model to the MCNB3153 with color night vision) I will test that one out too.
Thanks,

Re: Anyone managed to get Lorex IP cameras working?
I think I have made a little progress in trying to figure this out. I was finally able to get a feed from the camera in VLC. The one thing that came up was after opening the feed with VLC I was prompted for a userid/password for the camera. From the ZM documentation I have been reading, it says If ...

Anyone managed to get Lorex IP cameras working?
I currently have a complete Lorex security system with 8 cameras that are all 1080p IP POE cameras. I just found out about ZoneMinder and want to test it because my Lorex LNR400 NVR has only 8 ports and I think I need (ok, WANT) a couple more. 10 ports would probably do, but 12 could also be ...
