Re: Fresh install - cameras not listed in console
I did a full re-install of everything and it appears to be working now.

Re: Fresh install - cameras not listed in console
I re-installed everything - including OS. Not sure if I saw this before - but it looks like there may be an error on startup. # /usr/bin/zmpkg.pl start 07/28/21 15:41:39.126746 zmpkg[18695].INF [main:318] [Sanity checking States table...] 07/28/21 15:41:39.128525 zmpkg[18695].INF [main:95] [Command ...

Re: Fresh install - cameras not listed in console
Is there an easy way to reset the database to factory settings? I'm thinking this may be a good start.

Re: Fresh install - cameras not listed in console
That seems pretty much the same as what I did. I re-did most of the commands - but still seems the same. I also tried apt reinstall zoneminder - still no difference.

Fresh install - cameras not listed in console
I have a fresh Debian 10 buster install, used the 1.36.5 from the repository. Got it loaded, and added an existing camera which is working OK on another instance of an older version of ZM. After adding/saving, the camera doesn't show up on the console: https://i.imgur.com/KhoN5Eq.png I tried adding ...

Re: Ring begone, zonemider FTW!
Is there a good replacement for Ring which has the same features, but without the Amazon connected cloud?

Re: Odd behavior
Ok, so i used a different browser and saw the slider and FF buttons working now.
The culprit seems to have been an addon for Firefox called Privacy Possum which removes some of the common tracking headers

Odd behavior
1.29.0 Yeah, i know - old version! I really should upgrade - and I think I will - but it may take me some time. Monitors are working OK - modect working OK - only problem is that when I view an event, i can't fast forward, or use the slider to jump to a specific part of the video. Also - there are ...

Cool thanks for the response. I presume if you want audio, you have to do mp4?

Performance hit going from 1.29 to 1.32?
I'm on 1.29 still - my needs are simple - I don't feel as i'm missing anything by not upgrading - BUT - sound recording does appeal - and if I were to upgrade to 1.32 - would I see a performance hit due to new features? I looked in the release notes and it mentions an mp4 container. Does this mean ...

Re: Modect-Nodect slow to start linked recordings
I'm no expert by any means - but perhaps the logs from around the events may help.

Re: Best CPU solution
I run it in a VM. 5 cameras, but fairly low resolution - 640x480. All running in modect (motion detection) at between 5-10fps. If you have higher resolution - you may need more horsepower, but there is no reason why you can't piggyback ZM on the back of an existing server in a VM. Here are my VM ...

Blue screen after reboot/reset of RTSP/ONVIF camera
I installed a new RTSP camera - a wanscam hw0029. Works fine - works great, except after I reboot it, sometimes ZM doesn't seem to re-connect to the stream and gives a blue screen. I can resolve this quite easily by disabling and re-enabling the camera under the function menu and un-checking ...

Re: Reliable, inexpensive, compact wifi IP camera?
I found something - the Wanscam HW0026.
Nice little camera and ticks all the boxes. Web interface (though you need a smartphone to get it configure initially), wifi, 1028x768 or 640x352. ONVIF support, and relatively cheap - about £15 delivered.
Early days, but so far seems stable.
