Re: Upgrades issues
This tripped me up too, upgrading from 1.31.x. After the upgrade, https://server/zm wasn't pulling anything. I ended up deleting /etc/httpd/conf.d/zoneminder.conf and making the symbolic link to /etc/zm/www/zoneminder.conf per the new install section of the README. Seeing both zoneminder.conf files ...

Re: FFMPEG IP Camera Buggy Snapshots
When you select the Source Type of the monitor, you can choose Remote, Ffmpeg, local, etc. I'm suggesting you try "Remote" to see if that makes a difference.DoubleHP wrote:Johny, not sure what you call remote.

Re: FFMPEG IP Camera Buggy Snapshots
DoubleHP - same problem here, noted in another thread related to Reolink cameras. The stream is also fine via VLC while the smearing occurs in ZoneMinder.
The fix for me has been to change all my source types to Remote. I have yet to see smearing with it (vs ffmpeg).

Re: Ffmpeg and smearing issues
Just had smearing on another Reolink camera using ffmpeg. After going back and forth with Reolink support, I'm giving up on them. They pointed to ZoneMinder as I suspected they would. Since both VLC, the web interface for the camera itself, and ZM using Remote as a source type don't show the ...

Re: Script to convert all events to daily videos
This is awesome! I just tested by creating a video of the entire day for my driveway camera. Worked perfectly. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Ffmpeg and smearing issues
Update... I saw smearing on two different cameras today. To fix one, I simply restarted ZM from the web interface (love that feature). The other one I just disabled since I have a "Remote" monitor still working fine on it.

Re: Ffmpeg and smearing issues
I've been using TCP all along; the UDP issue is mentioned all over these forums and others. And I've upgraded to fmpeg 3. Just did a tcpdump from my ZM box. No UDP going to/from any cameras on my network. If I change to RTP/Unicast, I see UDP. But not with RTP/RTSP. So - I can confirm that ZM 1.30.0 ...

I PM'd them but haven't done anything else. Care to send me what you sent them and I'll double the effort?

Re: Ffmpeg and smearing issues
Interesting considering I've stopped and restarted Zoneminder before and the smearing continues. I wonder what the magic is that "fixes" the problem temporarily? Between us, I'm pretty sure restarting the camera has fixed it, restarted zoneminder has fixed it, restarting the switch has fixed it, and ...

Re: Ffmpeg and smearing issues
Remote settings are all the defaults, basically break up the URL you used in ffmpeg into the various fields. Just replied to your PM.
That sucks that you had to resort to restarting the switch. That's really weird.

Re: Ffmpeg and smearing issues
Just read through that whole thread... that's all about UDP though, isn't it? I've been using TCP (I think) via RTP/RTSP all along. If I do RTP/Unicast, it gets worse for me (more artifacts, at least). I had smearing on my 410 today. It started at 8:30AM. It was getting bright, but not nearly as ...

Re: Ffmpeg and smearing issues
Yeah, makes sense. Did you tinker with the h264 profile? Though I still think that's not it, since again, Remote works for me. You should put a Remote monitor in for your offending camera so you have an ffmpeg and a remote one to watch. It'd be nice to know it's not just me...

Re: Ffmpeg and smearing issues
I turned off "3D-NR" on the 3 cameras that have had the smearing issue to see if that's related. I've also read it could be something with the h264 profile (I have the cameras all at high, but there are main and baseline options too). Also there's a contrast option "anti-smearing" that is ...
