Its just constantly recording though.. not just when there's movement?

and at the main menu it says events is 0, same for hour, day, week, etc... is that right? I thought it would only write to the HDD when motion was detected (which I dont think it is because its saying 0 events?)

Ok, I reformatted and installed a GUI. I got xawtv capturing stills fine. The /root/.xawtv file looks like this. (I deleted the commented lines..) It still just doesn't show an image. When I get home from work, i'll install X again and find out the settings that I was using in the capture program... its getting too frustrating now. lol

So its the channel, not the /dev/video? .. because I have alot of /dev/video0 .. /dev/video1 .. right through to 63 or something?
