What the Heck's Happened? And How to Use H.265
I'm sure it's user error, but I need a sanity check here. I used to use ZM a few years ago without problem, but today I can't seem to figure anything out. I'm on v1.36.32. Where's the live view? Like if I want to see the live feed of my camera, how do I get to that? Clicking on the camera name now ...

SOLVED: Frozen Video/Missing Frames MODECT
Yup. It was the storage settings on the camera. If Save JPEGs is set to Frames+Analysis, then video playback freezes. Idk if the images successfully store or not, but I don't think they do. Video Writer can be either H264 Passthrough or X264 Encode without problem. At least for me. Hopefully this ...

Re: Frozen Video/Missing Frames MODECT
I think I may have found the problem. It has to do with the storage settings. Pretty certain it's a problem with trying to save video, frames and analysis simultaneously. It might be the video writer setting as well or the combination of both. I'm testing the different settings combinations to find ...

Re: Frames Skipped or Video Freezing
I've included my log:
I also tried adjusting my analyze frame rate and disabling the efficient skip option.
which is free of any errors, even during the bad playback. Perhaps this will help.I also tried adjusting my analyze frame rate and disabling the efficient skip option.

Re: Frames Skipped or Video Freezing
I just noticed something interesting. When recording activates, the entire feed from the camera freezes. I happened to have the secondary RTSP stream open on my desktop when the mail got delivered. The live stream looked just like the recording with a pause when the courier tripped the motion ...

Re: Frames Skipped or Video Freezing
Anyone have any suggestions? This problem continues to persist for me, and at times it makes having a camera useless. I suppose I could switch it to just recording all the time (though others seem to have a problem with that), but then running zoneminder is kind of pointless for my purposes. I don't ...

Frozen Video/Missing Frames MODECT
Whenever mocord activates, zm seems to quit actually recording. When I view the video of an event, the image freezes for the duration of the motion. When I review the frames, the frame numbers are sequential, but frame 26 to 27 will be images from seconds or more apart. I had a conversation with a ...

Re: Image Quality Issues
That seems to have fixed it, thanks! Between this, losing the old remote mrl source and other problems, It's been a two week long nightmare since I decided to "simply" update everything to U 18.04/ZM 1.32.x. Finally it's all back to functional (and working a bit better than before I might add ...

SOLVED: Image Quality Issues
I had an installation of zoneminder running and everything was fine. It was time to upgrade though, so installed Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver and a fresh installation of 1.32. Everything's a clean install, and despite setting everything the same I'm having problems. The first one was solved, but it ...

Re: "Cascade" of camera failures
Sounds like PHP versions frequently cause issues. This wasn't the right solution for a problem I was having, but it was a suggestion:

Re: 404 RTSP
Partially solved! Instead of using "remote" as the source type, I went with ffmpeg and used the mrl format for the source path rtsp://[user]:[password]@[ip]:[port,probably554]//Streaming/Channels/[0 or 1], method was UDP. Just started trying different settings and it happened. Strangely, I know for ...

Re: "Cascade" of camera failures
Normally, I don't answer too many questions here because I don't have anything to input. This case is different. Based on my own experiences (not with wireless cameras, but with wireless in general, both WiFi and other radio technologies) and what you say specifically in 1 and 2, I would take a look ...

Re: 404 RTSP
Likely in doing the upgrade... I could and should have been a little bit more precise in how I worded things. In the process of "upgrading" to Bionic and ZM 1.32, I upgraded the hard drive for a freshly formatted (and much larger) one. So, my Ubuntu/ZM upgrades were actually clean installations on ...

[SOLVED] 404 RTSP
After that annoying pop up telling me for months that there was an update to ZM, I updated myself to Ubuntu Server Bionic Beaver (18.04.x) and Zoneminder 1.32.x Before doing so, I took screenshots of all the configurations for the camera. Once everything was done updating and it was time to ...

zmNinja "Invalid API/API access failed."
Everything else about my ZM setup seems to be running okish save for some weird errors in log which I've posted about. Unfortunately, I can't get zmNinja to connect. I installed zm 1.30.4 using the provided instructions on a fresh installation of ubuntu server 17.10, have OPT_USE_API, OPT_USE_AUTH ...
