Wow, now thats another neat option. Would need to source some cheap, small LCD too. That would make a killer vehicle DVR though.

I found some cheap chinese DVR's with built in quad in the 200$ range but kind of leery of buying
Anyhow.. if I do go the PCMCIA capture route, are there any common chipsets that I should look for?

I spent a few hours searching and cant find anything cheap that meets the criteria of 4 cameras with motion detection activated recording =(
Could get a standard cheap DVR and run 4 cameras into a quad, but then its not so cheap =(
