I have a set of Axis P3367-VE cameras that are going to be aimed at doors on the exterior of my house
The Axis P33 series cameras have a small set of GPIO pins.
I'd like to use these pins to set an event instead of motion.
Has anyone done anything similar?

Re: Fresh install, New Monitor, No video.
Not in front of the machine at the moment. I was able to get it to work by reducing the frame rate down to 10 (at the camera and in ZoneMinder) instead of 20.

Re: Linux Noob Setting up from a blank hard drive. Installation problems.
I just recreated the directories. If I create a new text file with nano in "/var/cache/zoneminder/images" it shows up in "/video/zoneminder/images." If I create a new text file with nano in "/var/cache/zoneminder/events" it shows up in "/video/zoneminder/events." Deleting files in one deletes it in ...

Re: Fresh install, New Monitor, No video.
I found it last night.
Now when I click on the live view, it locks up, at the bottom it says "Receiving data from (server IP)"
I'm guessing 2688 x 1520 x 32bit @ 20 frames per second is a lot.

Re: Linux Noob Setting up from a blank hard drive. Installation problems.
I had to reinstall three times last night but finally got it. When I got to the point of installing ZoneMinder with the command apt install zoneminder I kept getting a "Password does not satisfy the requirements" error message. I changed my root password and that didn't help. I reran the mysql ...

Re: Fresh install, New Monitor, No video.
If I type path_zms, it says command not found. Can you help me out a little more, please.
DO I set this up from the web browser interface or the command prompt on Linux?

Fresh install, New Monitor, No video.
I set up ZoneMinder 1.30.4 according to the WIki on a fresh install of Ubuntu Server 16.04.4. (Only took me like 18 tries.) And now I'm setting up my first monitor. My camera is a Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I. I have set it up with the following path for the stream. rtsp://UserName:ClearTextPassword@192 ...

Re: Linux Noob Setting up from a blank hard drive. Installation problems.
I don't like LAMP... CCFL bulbs last longer and are more energy efficient. LEDs are even moreso and tolerate on-off cycles better.
I kid, I kid.
But this IS a fresh install, LAMP server was selected on the install. Along with mail server and a bunch of other options.

The wiki has the same command to set up Apache CGI with no instructions on how to proceed if it fails.
