Running 1.36.15 on CentOS 7 from RPM fusion
In the web interface, if I select multiple Linked Monitors, it does not save.
When I go in to the database and directly
UPDATE Monitors SET LinkedMonitors = '1,10' WHERE Id = 9;
Then restarting the ZM service
It works.
Anyone encounter the same thing?

Re: IP Camera access thru VPN tunnel
I have purchased several cameras and DVR systems that I have no clue on how to access without the use of their software. For IP Cameras My first stop is usually to use nmap to port scan it to see if rstp is open (tcp/554). If it is, there is usually a good chance I can use this in zoneminder. Then I ...

Password hash in database
I did a select on the Users tables in zoneminder and some of the passwords had a -ZM- in front of them.
I can still log in with the user accounts but what does the -ZM- do?

Re: 1.30->1.32->1.34 upgrade: multiple broken monitors
I decided to upgrade recently as well, I remember have to run zmudate.pl to fix my database and also there were some settings that did not change right like my filters were wrong. Then I recently patched again and something changed my auth relay method to hashed from none, I forced myself to figure ...

Re: Anyone Still Using Zoneminder 1.30?
A lot of my cameras are x264, so I think it may be worth it.
All of the reason's you spelled out have convinced me. Going to run a few tests in a VM to see if it is compatible with my IoT stuff.
Thanks

Anyone Still Using Zoneminder 1.30?
I been using Zoneminder since 1.2x and in Aug of 2017 I upgraded both hardware and software to 1.30.4 https://www.apolonio.com/blog/?p=7173 Triggers work great. This thing just runs, and ties to my IoT stuff well, mailbox gets opened, I receive stills of the mailbox. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v ...

Re: if it were stolen?
I have a filter simply email me images to a gmail or other web account. Needs regular cleanup though.
But the other stuff about passwords and your privacy etc. Yeah that still sucks and something needs to mitigate.

Re: Which Capture Card
I still run the old BNC stuff because the wiring is all still there especially with hard to reach places. But I am moving to mostly IP based access But if compatibility is an issue, you should be able to buy a standalone DVR (or do they call it NVR nowadays) with 4 or 8 channels which you should be ...

Monitoring Load On Zoneminder
All, I recently got in to a conversation with a friend regarding my zoneminder and his blue iris. I shared with him how I monitor load, found it useful so put it up on my blog. If there is anything incorrect with what I posted, please let me know. http://www.apolonio.com/blog/?p=7892 I basically ...

Running ZM in a VM
I recall some people running Zoneminder on VMware. I think it would work for a VM with 1 or 2 vCPU, but because it can get CPU intensive, wouldn't you start having problems with costop as you add more vCPU? I get this all the time, the application on the VM is running slow, so the owner asks for ...

root password of camera
I have a couple of 1080P PoE IP cameras I got off of ebay. Once and a while the camera would go out and I would have to reboot it. I have been using the web interface to manually reboot it, but I would like to use telnet and an expect script to reboot it (this works with some cameras I purchased on ...

Low CPU usage
Was hoping to use an old laptop as a zoneminder NVR box. Looking at about 4 1080P streams via H.264 RTSP streams. If I do not do any image analysis, (MONITOR, RECORD or NODECT) to CPU requirements drop or is there still a high CPU requirement due to the need to decode those streams? The laptop is a ...
