I have tested zoneminder- 1.36.29-focal1 , ( The latest release ) with USB monitor on Ubuntu focal and found the function status ( none, monitor, modect, Record, mocord, nodect ) can't be changed using the function sub menu at zm console . But it can be changed using the Source sub menu in the zm ...

I have tested zoneminder- 1.36.29-focal1 ( latest ) today and found that the above problem in loading the log file has been solved .

I have tested zoneminder1.36.28-focal1 with USB monitor today , and found the log file can't be loaded.

The brightness adjustment is can be done in this release with out any problem .( It was not working in the previous ZM version )

Today I have tested 1.37.21~20220907093200-bionic on Ubuntu bionic and found that the problem in installing has been solved.

When MQTT is enabled the problem solved
Now the USB monitor canbe created on Zoneminder master - focal

I have tested Zoneminder-master latest 1.37.19~20220810103212-bionic latest release and found that the USB monitor can be created.

I had the same problem with mysql 8 .
