Pete, If you do a ls -l in the /mnt/Data2/surveillance directory you should see that the Named monitor directories are actually links to the monitor number and that all 3 of the Front 1 main directories are actually linked to the same monitor number and data is only being stored in a single location.

You are correct with the Minimum Section Length. You'll want to lower that to a more reasonable setting based on your Post EIC. Are you sure you're looking at Minimum Section Length and not just Section Length? The default for MSL is 10 seconds where the default for SL is 600. In the case where you ...

In the monitor setup under the Buffers section, you'll want to put the Post Event Image Count to the number of Frames to record after no motion is detected. I.E.
