FYI I had this exact problem and could not get zmNinja working with a new ZM install. I setup my own SSL certs and then everything started to work fine. I didn't find this thread till now or I would have tried the legacy api auth option first, but I still wanted my own cert anyway.

Never mind! I got out! I discovered dragging the mouse to the right shows the menu, and then in developer settings I added extended info on montage and when I went back it showed me a toolbar finally. Then I disabled all the extended info and its normal. I just won't touch that crosshair/reticle ...

Hello all! New to ZoneMinder, just got server working. Now I'm playing with zmNinja on MacOS and the very first thing I did was view montage and click the little cross-plus-whatever that icon is that opens full view (not full screen kiosk) of the montage with no tool bars. I can't find any way out ...
