So during the day I can grab liscense plates pretty easily. I want to use the same cameras at night to do so, but to also automatically switch over from good night vision settings to the best liscense plate reading settings. Something like: Default: good night vision settings Sense headlights/ tail ...

FFMPEG passthrough can not play video & what are best libraries?
I can not play back a camera's video for which live video works. It worked when setup as RTSP stream but I wanted to try to set it up as ffmpeg to see the effect of using 264 passthrough had on cpu load. I am using an android with IPwebcam software as the camera source: ffmpeg Source Path: http ...

Re: Adapting Amcrest Cameras Systems - AXIS M7016?
That sounds correct however I am not sure about hardware compatibility. The one you're referring to is not in the compatibility section: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Axis It may very well work but I'd try to buy the first one where you can return it OR find a cheap used one on ebay and figure it out ...

Re: Toshiba Dome Camera ik-wd04a
Guys, I'm such a dummy. I did all of this research on that, only to find that ZoneMinder had an onvif button in the new camera setup and it did everything for me, oh well, glad to have added this camera to the wiki

Re: Toshiba Dome Camera ik-wd04a
Gosh I really shouldn't have gotten involved with zoneminder, it's just too fun and before I know it I've spent hours fiddling with hacking the camera and stuff. So I noticed when I did the "View Source" on google chrome it mentioned something about internet explorer 7 in the source code for the ...

Raspberry PI cam setup (local, on board with the zoneminder install)
Hey guys, I have zone minder on a raspberry pi 4b with the rpi cam and I can not figure out how to access it. I've tried a few things but nothing works. Please help! What's the path? What's the caputre mentod? Is it local, as far as the source type goes? I promise I'll put this in the WIKI after :)

Toshiba Dome Camera ik-wd04a
So there's like no documentation anywhere I can find on this camera that was working out for me. The camera seems to have been EOL'd (end of lifed) by toshiba, toshiba USA's camera division seems to have been acquired by another company, one thing after another, it took me a while to find the ...

Re: New install Can't create frame capture images from video because there is no video file for this event then more pro
ok after much trial and effort I got it to work again but not sure it had anything to do with my previous problem. I reinstalled zone minder and I altered the default settings from my camera to h264 encode vs h264 passthrough. I thought passthrough was better as it would use less cpu In both cases I ...

New install Can't create frame capture images from video because there is no video file for this event then more problem
First I get the problem : "Can't create frame capture images from video because there is no video file for this event" so I try very carefully to set my timezones assuming it could be a timezone mis match because my timezones were all wrong. That didn't fix it at all. So now I stopped the services ...
