This is the reason for motion detection. I had 4 cams at 320x240 for a test, and after a week I had just used a couple of gigs. I'm still reading & learning about zm and it was my plan to use motion detection as well as real time. I thought I could run 2 monitors to some of the cameras, The 1st at ...

Thanks for the reply The way your question is phrased indicates some confusion. You can use the 2006 zm RPM to upgrade to the latest version of zm with your present installation. There is a updates repository configured but it seems that the repository is no longer being maintained. You could delete ...

looks right in principle, but i dont get where you're getting the image from and resizing it??? zm should do all that for you and add in a level of compression to make the filesize smaller, at a cost to the quality of the image... No, you misunderstand me. knowing that I ideally wanted a 640x480 ...

856kb?! i think something is wrong Yes, there was. I didn't actually do the resizing myself as I was at work & didn't have a photo or the necessary software to resize it. I called home and got my wife to do it & tell me the file size. Unfortunately she saved the file as a .pspimage and not a ...

Help:- How to Calculate Disk Storage Requirements.
I've been hoping to use 9 Cameras at 640x480 5fps but having taken a photo of one of the areas to be covered and resized it to 640x480 it comes our at 856Kb. 9 Cameras x 5 FPS x 856Kb = 38520Kb or 37.63Mb per second 37.62Mb x 60 Seconds x 60 Minutes = 135,432Mb Per Hour or 132.26Gb per hour. Is this ...

New 1.22.2 LiveCD Install - Queries before I get too far
After an unsuccessful attempt to get zm going on Ubuntu "Feisty" (mainly down to my lack linux expertise) I decided to try the LiveCD route. Everything has gone without a hitch and I have zm 1.22.2 running just fine on the following hardware. Pentium 4 3.2Ghz Onboard Gig-Lan 1 gb PC3200 Ram 120gb ...

Trying ZM again & want to get equip specs right this tim
I had a good try at Zoneminder last year, but I never really got it sorted properly. Having completely messed up my Suse10.1 install I now want to start again from scratch. I have some other applications running on other machines under Ubuntu 7.04 "Feisty" so would prefer to use the same platform ...

Thanks for the reply.. you can drop all repositories by goning to yast->change install source and remove all installation sources. then go to "online update setup" and follow the steps on the screen and leave the "register" option unchecked. this will add you a default update mirror. after it should ...

Want to Upgrade from 1.21 but my Suse is stuffed advice?
Some while ago I installed 1.21 on a Suse 10.1 server and got it working, sort of. It is still currently operational as it is, but I will need to be adding more hardware etc. and I don't seem to have updates access any more. I decided that the project had to wait until I had a little more time, but ...

Where do you buy this card? Thx, Stas Simplty Automate, http://www.simplyautomate.co.uk/productDisplay.asp?prodId=5462 I'll say again that I've merely got as far as getting it to display composite input, I can't comment on it's performance, I have no cameras yet, merely a VCR test source and don't ...

OK, so after many days trial & tribulations I've had ZM up & running (with a VCR test source) for 2 days. So now I get the "Version 1.22 is available" pop-up. Am I mad thinking of going for this now? Is it simply Download & recompile over the top of the old version? I'm clearly not happy having a ...

Any CCD (not CMos) webcams for Zoneminder?
I'm looking for a couple of good image quality USB2 webcams for use with ZM. These will monitor the immediate area close to the ZM Server. I've read the compatibility list, but just wondering whether any ZM compatible Webcams use CCD a sensor rather than CMos for a better image quality? Any ...
