Ubuntu 22.04 Access denied for user 'debian-sys-maint'@'localhost'
Not sure if others have come across this on the new ubuntu 22.04 release, but here's what I did to fix this issue. Hopefully, others find this and it helps. 1) First, let's get the password sudo cat /etc/mysql/debian.cnf 2) You will see something like below # Automatically generated for Debian ...

.22 and .23 APT Upgrade Errors
Mainly wanted to report this. Manually running the contents of the SQL script using sudo seems to work, then running the "zmupdate.pl" sends up a second set of errors. APT errors chown: cannot dereference '/var/cache/zoneminder/skins_classic_js_bootstrap.min-base-1639175790.js': No such file or ...

Re: Clone monitor + zones
I use different Zones for Day/Night and have a cron job that runs to set the Active/Inactive setting on the zone depending on the time of day and sunrise/sunset. I also manually clone zones using SQL, not very difficult but would be nice to have this directly in the Zones page for cloning within the ...

Zone Detection Monitor
It would be wonderful to have some histogram or something to help in configuring detection when configuring zones. This would probably be CPU intensive, but it would be worth it to be able to see the results of the config changes real-time without leaving the Zone config page.

Re: [SOLVED] Motion detect and record different streams?
So what is the purpose of the SourceSecondPath box in the monitor settings under v1.36.5? The Linked Monitor works, but you loos the analytics of what zone triggered, etc.

Re: Zone Trigger Help
I do use zmEventServer, but if I don't tune the alerts then my watch/phone drive me absolutely crazy. Too many false alerts = crying wolf. I'm actually trying to get the MQTT to work for alerting.

Re: Zone Trigger Help
Yeah, can't remember how many times I've gone through that article. Maybe it's just the extreme amount of pixels in the 4k feed. I will create a second monitor at D1 resolution (704*480) and go through that article again. Then link it to the 4k feed as an external trigger, so when I do get an alarm ...

Zone Trigger Help
Been trying for a few months to get my zones "tuned", but I always either overshoot and miss events, or undershoot and get a ton of false positives. I'm trying to use the stats from the triggered events to fine tune things, but I don't think I have things down right. For instance, I have a zone that ...

Re: Home alarm system
Interface zmeventserver and use MQTT to a Raspberry PI. You then can act on that MQTT message by driving a GPIO pin attached to your security system.

Re: VMware "best practices" for 2020
So running a snapshot will easily triple the IO overhead to your storage. Get rid of snapshots, they should never be used to backup purposes, just quick actions to rollback an update or quiesce the filesystem to allow a backup software to ingest the disk. Also, look at ESXTOP and see if you are ...

Zoom and Pan
When reviewing events, I zoom into the stream but can't pan to where I actually want to be zoomed at. Makes it really difficult to do anything.
