Ah okay..that was it.....it is recording now..and zmc uses around 4 - 6%... Starts recording at 20fps but then drops to around 2 - 3fps as it is now analyzing..and in the video nothing is recognizable... I assume just recording 2560x1920 @20fps is way too much.... 2020-12-23 10:36:20 zma_m1 36469 ...

Well it didn‘t complain anymore...

And by default there is no h264 vaapi decoder in ffmpeg, only encoder.

Hmm...debugging was already on...though see only informational logs....

Well seems I have to reinstall Ubuntu server and then install 1.34 (o;

Did now a complete fresh install with Ubuntu server 20.04.1 and added the zoneminder-master repository... This time had no database errors during install...might be it comes back when doing an upgrade...anyway... Added a 640x480 @15fps sub stream...in record only mode...but still no recording done ...

Okay...did a complete fresh install of Ubuntu server 20.04.1 on an Intel NUC i7... ffmpeg is installed by default with VAAPI acceleration, but only for encoding.... That's probably why I see this error message when adding a new monitor and set it up for VAAPI... So is there some library missing for ...

Installed ZM 1.35.16 on Ubuntu 20.04 now and added a monitor for a Reolink camera as record only with h264 pass through writer...

But I see nothing is recorded at all.
Any hints?

Well yes..I know uneven numbers are unstable....just wondering who and why it requires debian.cnf....

Good evening ;-) Just recently installed 1.34.22 and upgraded to 1.35.16 as I read in another thread that the new version allows to record only on the main stream and analyzing on the substream... So how would I achieve this? Do I need to setup two monitor per camera, one for main and one for sub ...

Hmm...really nobody has a comment on this?

Or should I go big with a 12-core AMD Ryzen and a NVidia GPU for 6 * 5MP h264 streams?
