Re: Why ImageBufferCount 101 for 50/I-Frames?
Bluemax, you're post got me thinking, and if you're short on memory and using h265 see the post I made after having read yours... https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=30673 Assuming you have sufficient storage, which you probably do if you're using h265, you probably don't need more ...

Re: Does buffer size matter if you're just doing passthrough with no analysis?
Log is REALLY pissed at me, also buffer can only go down to 10. (iconnor explained to me that the log warnings I was seeing at a buffer setting of 10 indicated that there was a possibility of a frame being lost, at a buffer of 20 the error message changed and just said buffer needed to be increased ...

Does buffer size matter if you're just doing passthrough with no analysis?
I was just reading this thread.... https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=30671 and in my situation I'm just doing h264 passthrough with constant recording and all I really care about is being able to see the live images and recordings in ZMNinja. After having read that thread it got me ...

So far looks like you were right Magic.
All memory usage is the same. Its what I expected but figured asking if anyone had ever noticed any difference couldn't hurt. Thanks for the reply!
No more 8 million events per day!

Shared memory in Ubuntu 20.04
Running Ubuntu 20.04. The box has 32gb memory. With three 4K cameras running in h265 passthrough each camera shows 3.5gb mem usage in HTOP. ZFS ARC grows to 16gb after awhile but it will release the memory when needed. The 3 cameras are causing /dev/shm to show %60. I probably need to tweak the ...

Pros/Cons of shorter/longer event length if always recording?
I'm setting up a constant recording rig and currently the event length is 10 minutes. Having so many events everyday makes the event list pretty cluttered. Other than downloading or file transfer issues after the fact, does it make any difference to performance during recording if I go to 30 minute ...

Re: I can't hear you
I'm dumb. Under the camera's configuration tab you select video sub-tab, then there is a "Video-Type" selection box with two options. One is "Video" and the other is "Video&Audio". Working now.

I can't hear you
I have an Annke C800 with h264 passthrough to zoneminder. I can't seem to get audio working. I have record audio in event turned on. There are a bunch of audio codecs available in the Annke camera's setup. I tried MP3 with h264, h265, and h265+ and didn't hear any audio with any of them. The other ...

Re: Noob needs some guidance
Thanks for getting me on track Burger. I think I have my setup figured out, I just wanted to get a quick sanity check. I pulled out an old AMD Phenom II X4 B50 Processor with 12GB ram I had in the basement and put a 240GB Kingston SSD in it for the boot drive. I have a 4TB HGST Ultrastar coming from ...

Noob needs some guidance
I'm the "IT guy" at a business that has 16 analog cameras going into a SpyClops system. The owners of the business want remote access to the cameras bad and SpyClops works like 20% of the time. For the record I had no input at all when the system was installed. So now I've been tasked to this fix ...
