thats a bummer that the newer firmware doesnt support live view in the config page. thanks for the info. I would consider downgrading and if it doesnt meet your needs then return the camera. then again there are multiple ways to get the live feed. My cams are still working well. I probably will not ...

Hello Sorry I was not interested in nor know anything about using wifi for security systems. I'm sure you have good reasons for wanting a wifi based system. Yes the PTZ worked. I utilized the HikVision.pm protocol as included with zoneminder. the user/password is the same one that is used to access ...

Re: Help with zmNinja Setup for Internet Access
The problem was with the port forwarding setup and not anything to do with ZM. Following up on the comments above regarding SSL. Is there something additional I need to do with the zmNinja setup to incorporate SSL or since it is not working it is all OK? Glad you got it going. Congratulations. Can ...

Re: Install on Shared Hosting?
IMHO your going to need hosting that is dedicated to IP cam security. regular web hosting isnt going to cut it. a VPS ( virtual private server ) may work but it isnt going to be cheap. Something like this could work . https://www.camcloud.com/features or https://www.cameraftp.com/CameraFTP ...

Re: PTZ settings with LEFTEK IPCAM
yea my cameras support onvif control but I could not get zoneminder to work with them. the problem could have been at my end ?? I ended up using the native control for my camera, and even then it took some work. there are a couple of Pelco control options. FYI i had to restart ZM every time I made a ...

Re: Can't locate ZoneMinder/Control/onvif in @INC
zmcontrol.pl --id 6' just a guess that your monitor ID number 6 is set for onvif control and it isnt setup properly. Maybe you should comeback with the type of camera on ID 6, the type of control you have setup, and the whether that control worked before your 'upgrade'. additionally you could ...

Re: Best config for simple setup
Motion detection done by the camera itself, so ZoneMinder doesn't need to analyze the images. You mention a simple setup in your subject line. One way to start out is. 1 use rtsp stream 2. use ZM to do detection 3. set a low resolution on your camera 4. set a low analysis rate on ZM 5. get a ...

Re: Help with zmNinja Setup for Internet Access
Let's be clear, if you are using ZM on the internet, you must use https/ssl encryption which is port 443 by default. ZM will run on whatever port you have apache setup for. currently in my case it is a non standard port, as 80 and 443 were already in use on that server. SSL is also optional, but ...
