Thanks Guys, I did have the same black line issue at first but the memory limit increase seemed to sort that which is when the interlacing issue becomes more noticeable. I get this in live and playback views and even when i export the video. I also have the same issue when viewed in ZM4MS. The only ...

I am getting a similar issue on my install with lines only on Motion . My machine is a 3.0ghz P4 with 1 gig ram. It has a 8 port 240fps bttv based card. At the moment I only have 3 cams linked up and they are all PAL cameras. Running Ubuntu 0904-desktop (2.6.28-11-generic) with ZM compilled from ...

I get a similar issue with ubuntu 9.04 and ZM 1.24.1. Seems a restart of apache sorts it. Will check the logs in the meantime.

Are you looking for an IP webcam style PTZ or a one CCTV one? I use a COP speed dome which will use many different protocols such as Pelco P and D. I also use Dennard 2050's and 2060's but these require the dennard protocol which I dont think ZM supports.

USB to RS485 Converter and General Purpose IO

Hi all, In my spare time I have been working on a number of different hardware devices that I plan to use with with ZM and LMCE amongst other things. They are still very much in the prototype phase but if anyone is interested in trying these out with ZM then please get in touch. Any feedback good or ...

I cant find any prices for this on the web site. Do you have any idea what the control units would cost. For me a system needs to run on its own without the need for a computer connected. The computer (ZM etc) would then provide enhanced functionality such as provisioning and logging and would allow ...

FTDI USB to RS232 Converter compatable?

Can anyone confirm if the range of FTDI USB to 232 converter IC's are supported by ZM? Specifically the FT232R

I am looking to use one as a virtual com port and wondered if anybody had any expirience with these?

Thanks in advance. Martin..

Hi, actually LMCE doesn't have such high demand by it self. You can have simple Core for the heart of the system and have media only clients that must have better graphics. But many users decide to use Hybrid (that means Core + Media Director (which is media client)). Ok so i maybe a little ...

Ive been having a good read throught the LinuxMCE pages and it seems to be a great system. The one thing that stands out is that it needs a high spec machine with specific hardware to work well. I think one of the reasons a lot of people choose zoneminder is that it can be run on older machines that ...

John, How many users are you planning on coping for? A microcontroller with some flash memory attached is more than capable of dealing with even the largest user list. I agree with you on the digging trenches but I still dont agree that Wifi is the way to go. Ok its well established but I think a ...

Access control is definately something i would be interesting in progressing.. but I am not sure it should be a seperate project. If it is, it should be closely linked in to zoneminder. This would allow logging and provisioning to be done through zoneminder which would be beneficial. An example of ...

re the modified protocol, i will bow down to you on this. The only thing with modifying it is if we test it on say a pelco and a bewater dome and it works great ut is icompatible with a different product that supposibly supports the same protocol it would be a pain. I like to stick to the standard ...

Initially I hadnt thought of making the IO board sit on the same bus as the PTZ. Althought it could well be possible and maybe a good starting point. I would be using a PICmicro to do the decoding of the data and control of the IO's. I would think a variation of pelco/bbv protocol but with different ...

You should be able to james, The dennard domes will simply ignore any packets that dont conform so you could send them alternately.
