bainssu, the static snapshot doesn't need to change by itself...zoneminder will keep fetching a fresh snapshot, and depending on what rate the camera can deliver the snapshots at - motion will either be choppy or smooth. enter the following configuration into zoneminder for the camera: Source Type ...

the Vivotek 7138 (1.3mpix) looks very interesting (for a megapixel ipcam in the $270 price range), but searching these forums revealed that the 7131 (640x480 ipcam) is apparently plagued by a slow framerate (2-3fps) when retrieving jpg images (search for posts by kylejohnson). i'm not sure if this ...

if u don't need ffmpeg, I just updated my guide (basic,no gui,stable)...

hi, how difficult would it be to repackage your .deb for sarge? the dependencies i've pretty much figured out here: http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Debian_3.1_install i've read that 1.22.3 uses newer sql statements which sarge doesn't support, so 1.22.2 would probably have to be used in the ...

One question, i couldn't find much info on your suggestion to change the shared memory ( kernel.shmax = ##########) I have a weak system, PII 350, with like 768 MB Ram, and a 6GB HDD. What would you suggest for ########## in this case, or can you provide a link that will explain this shared memory ...
