These JPEG libs are great.
I experienced a DRAMATIC reduction in load - I mean from around 1.0 to down to about 0.25 ! All I did was the following and then restarted ZM from the console. wget http://cetus.sakura.ne.jp/softlab/jpeg-x86simd/sources/jpegsrc-6b-x86simd-1.02.tar.gz tar xzvf jpegsrc-6b-x86simd-1.02.tar.gz wget http ...

bttv card
It's certainly been a learning experience. Struggling this way and finally learning something is good, and I have been endeavoring to more thoroughly document my adventures , so that I can refer to my notes later. These posts are also as valuable as gold. For instance, I was able to figure out that ...

I have a picture
The picture was scrambled on just this one camera on the bt878 card. By the way, I have Ubuntu 7.10. I see some entries here on this forum where James advises the following action in similar cases: Edit your /etc/modprobe.conf file and add this line: options bttv card=77 Since I don't have a /etc ...

That's helpful.
Oh, you're right. It does seem to not properly detect the card at first. I thought it "fixed itself" since some cameras connected to that card do work fine under the 320*240 resolution setting, but see, I do have card=0. me@vicuna:~$ dmesg | grep card= [ 22.556592] bttv0: using: *** UNKNOWN/GENERIC ...

Camera resolution troubleshooting help! [solved]
First of all, I want to express my appreciation to the developers of the Zoneminder system in general, and for those who have been working with packaging it for Ubuntu, and the Live CD guys. It's a great system, and if nothing else so far has really impressed me and my peeps. Now let me lay out my ...

CPU load is high I think
I'm setting up ZM Live CD 1.22.2.1 on an AMD duron 1300 and I have two cams working. CPU load seems to hover at around 1.2 but sometimes stays up at about 30 for a few minutes at a time. This seems to happen when I view the files in /var/lib/zm but anyway, is an average CPU load supposed to be ...

Just a guess
Maybe by specifiying a different resolution for the cameras you will achieve a better picture. Sounds like something's wrong with the height of the picture.
