I did manage to install Zoneminder, this time on Xubuntu 22.04 and with the script from kaltertod.

thanks everyone for replying. No luck until now. Had some troubles with a lacking systemctl. etc. So now did start over again with ubuntu server 22.04. That script looks good but is talking about Mariadb also. Suppose i need to choose just one of them, wich one would be a better match . Mariadb or ...

I do want to run a security serveillance program on the raspberry pi 4
from an SSD and have two candidates : MotioneyeOS and Zoneminder.

Are there any big differences between these two and what would be the ad- and disadvantages of the two ?

I am not quite sure wich OS or image would be advised for the raspberry pi 4 ?

I would like to use an ssd for the OS and storage too. With what OS image can this achieved.
