Re: Image resolution when using "Montage"
I found a kind of workaround. If I set zoom level to 30% the images look great on the small screen and there is no need to drag the window and refresh on the big screen. That is good enough for me. I'm posting in case anyone else encounters this. Having a tiny screen showing Montage next while you ...

Re: Image resolution when using "Montage"
We attempt to optimised bandwidth use by requesting an image scaled to the actual dimensions displayed. When you then resize the window it isn't updating the requested size. I'm not sure not updating is a problem. I'm very happy it is not updating to the tiny size of the screen I move it to. The ...

Image resolution when using "Montage"
I'm on 1.36.33. I often use the Montage feature with 4 cameras in a zone which I have open in firefox fullscreen mode on a small 1280x600 touchscreen, next to my main monitor (that switches between PCs with a KVM switch). The reason I'm starting this thread is that if I maximise firefox on my tiny ...

Unwanted triggers.
Does anyone have any idea how to troubleshoot unwanted triggers that most likely are coming from zmtrigger.pl or some mechanism in ZM that receives these triggers? Is there some extra debugging I can enable? Logs have no info beyond the triggers they should have. All my cameras are set to Mocord and ...

Another Python server/script that forwards alerts from cameras.
This is for 1.36 users (as 1.37 has onvif triggering built in I believe). This script will connect to a number of cameras via onvif PullPoint (please note, some cameras support PullPoint, but some support only BaseSubscription, for these this will not work). The script doesn't "just" pass everything ...

Re: Separate alert types. Can this be done with ZM and how?
Cool. I'll give it another go then. Previously I had issues upgrading (there is another thread about it here, essentially zmc would just crash on start with very little info logged after upgrade). This time instead of upgrading the container image I'll use a new one and I'll try to just upgrade the ...

Re: Separate alert types. Can this be done with ZM and how?
1.36 is stable. Meaning it gets no new features, only bug fixes. Just run 1.37. Do you(or anyone else) know how many people might be running it?(latest 1.37) A few, a dozen, hundreds? If its into at least a couple hundreds, looking at the issues on github I'd say it is pretty stable. If it's less ...

Python server/script to receive alerts from IPCAM branded camera (hichip) and others supporting "alert server"
I wrote this python3 script to test how good (or bad) my camer's "Smart AI" person detection is. Long story short, it is pretty bad (better than non AI motion detection in ZM, but still not as good as GPU based AI detection). The script runs a server on port 8080. It listens for HTTP GET connections ...

Re: Separate alert types. Can this be done with ZM and how?
This is very cool. Do you think it would be difficult to backport the feature to 1.36.33? (For someone who knows sql, C, perl and PHP, but haven't touched two last ones for a very long time). Alternatively, do you think the dev version is stable enough to be run in production (assuming the user if ...

Separate alert types. Can this be done with ZM and how?
First let me say I'm happy to do some scripting so this is not just a question of the type: can it be done via the web interface. I'm happy to write whatever extra functionality, but I'd prefer not to modify ZM itself. So to the point. Ideally I'd like to be able to see different types of stuff in ...

Problems updating from 1.36.33
So I made some fresh backups and I decided to try updating to latest master branch version. It built fine (on Debian bookworm), but zmc would crash consistently with no error messages at all and logs containing lots of "exited abnormally, exit status 255" and "shared data not valid". I tried ...

Up to date RAM requirement calculation.
I've read the part of the faq on memory calculation. And in default settings, no analysis, (mocord setting with no frames stored, pass through storage, 3 buffers). The way I read it, it seems to say one 4K 32bit camera requires (in bytes) Resolution times color space 3840*2160*4 = 33.2MB (times 3 ...

Re: Weird Chrome problem with ZM.
if monitor count >6, yes. You want multi-port. https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Multi_Port Is there some solution on the browser side? As it is a browser issue I'd rather resolve it at that end. There is a mention of a "Firefox about config" with no details I could find. Is there anything for Chrome ...

Weird Chrome problem with ZM.
I'm currently setting up my new ZM 1.36.33 based system. I have recently started having problems with what looks like some kind of bottleneck after I added my last 2 cameras. I spent ages troubleshooting the performance of my ZM system, with the web interface seemingly becoming unresponsive for new ...
