I wrote something similar a while back for a different kind of network camera. http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/ICamviewRelay It's written in Java, which may or may not be your thing, but it essentially does the same job that you want to do: - listen on a socket for a conenction from zm ...

this could be the same problem that i enquired about here http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6934&highlight= essentially it's because zm doesn't create a db record for each frame in non-alarm conditions in order to reduce system load. there's a param in the config called ZM_BULK_FRAME ...

axis 211

has anyone found any cheap(er than usual) axis vendors in the uk. i found a couple of threads where people claim they've found the axis 221 for 400-450 GBP, but the cheapest i've managed to find them for is about 650 GBP http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4747&highlight=221 http://www ...

I'm slightly confused by the information on the gadspot website about the GS1600/NC1600. It seems that it's an ip cam, but it also has a video output. and the image sizes mentioned are the traditional type e.g. SIF, QSIF. does this mean that they're not proper progressive scans cameras? do you still ...

ok, i didn't realise i had to restart zm after changing the debug value - i thought the script was run every 60 seconds rather than starting once and sleeping for 60 seconds

i made the change you suggested but the problem still occured, zmaudit still had to clear up afterwards. i also changed DBG_LEVEL to 1 in zmfilter.pl, but it didn't seem to produce any extra output in /tmp/zmfilter.log. is there anything else that needs to be changed to get the debug output? cheers ...

have you tried using something like ethereal to look in depth at the response that the camera is returning? it could be something as simple as the line terminators being different, which ie/mozilla/wget can handle but zm can't. if you can put it public i could take a look tonight - i'd also be ...

just wanted to follow this up. fast deletes is unchecked in the config, and zm has definitely been restarted since the fast deletes setting was last changed. it still looks like zmfilter is ignoring the fast deletes setting and just deleting the database records. any recommendations for what to do ...

so you've set up zm how you want it, clicked on Running, and entered a name that you want to save the current state as. is the save button greyed out at this point? try tabbing away from the "New State" field to see if that enables the button.

viewing event stills

hi i've got zoneminder configured in record mode, recording one camera at 3 fps. the bulk frame interval is set to 10, which means i write one database record every 3 seconds. the section length is set to 10 minutes. if i open an event and select stills, i get presented with thumbnails of the first ...

hi

you should be able to do (as root)

# /sbin/chkconfig --levels 35 mysqld on
# /sbin/chkconfig --levels 35 httpd on
# /sbin/chkconfig --levels 35 zm on

this works on fedora anyway. to check what levels a process will run at do:

/sbin/chkconfig --list | grep zm

hope this helps

i'm 99% sure i did, as i set up the filter a few days before the threshold was hit hit and i've played around with a few other things since then. i'll try and reproduce it next time the disk fills up, having made sure i've disabled fast delete and restarted
