Having left this for a while, it seems to have fixed itself with an update of some package. All back to normal... pheew, I was dreading having to set this all up again.

Same problem here after upgrading to Ubuntu Server 24.04.1.

I've done some more digging but still haven't been successful in finding a solution. I wonder whether there is an issue with compatibility with PHP 8.3 which ships with Ubuntu Server 24.04.1. I might end up having to reinstall the entire VM.

Still no joy on my end. I am running 1.36. Did you install from the PPA? You probably just need to update your software sources then.
