So what I did was this in terminal.

su -
then I ran these lines again.

a2enconf zoneminder
a2enmod rewrite
a2enmod headers
a2enmod expires
service apache2 reload11

The install worked OK for me. I did not run it on a VM and did not try to access Zoneminder using a loopback (127.0.0.1) IP address. The script on that guide does a2enconf zoneminder

It has some stuff but the index/php is in a www subfolder

brings up a basic apache default page
