OIY ! talk about strange, this morning i come in and guess what ... i set all at 640 x 480 and all is well ... no dead cameras yet.

i am chalking this one up as network or firefox craziness.

i already set all those parameters in firefox but i am glad you reminded me about that config page ... i think you are onto something and it really might be only a issue with the browser ... i'll double check the settings when i get into work tomorrow and report back ... thanks for the great ideas ...

ok now i was able to get 3 cameras working out of sheer um luck i guess ... i am eating up some kind of memory ... i had all 4 working for like 20 minutes...

problem running more than 2 cameras in 640x480 or in any...

hey guys, i am running 4 Sony SNC-M1W cameras over landline (not using the wireless) ... i can have all running in level 5 image quality (highest setting) at 320x240 but when i switch them to 640x480 i can only run 2 cameras and they have to be set to the lowest image quality to work otherwise i get ...

also, i can only maintain 2 cameras in the 640x480 mode as explained above... the other 2 have to remain in 320x240...

the system is a dell SC430, dual core cpu, gigabit ethernet, 2 sata 1 drives in a raid 0 config, 1 gig of ram...

ok guys ... i made some minor progress but am still confused ... so here goes .. i am using 1.22.2... i tried to delete the detection zone and add a new one, no picture still... i tried to raise the shared memory even higher (its a 1 gig system, no biggie), no picture... then i started to mess with ...

thank you for the quick reply James, i passed the argument in sysctl.conf and rebooted ... now the camera is communicating fine in 640 x 480 ... but i still get no image ... just black blankess or sometimes a broken image link in stream mode ... i think this should be a slightly simpler problem to ...

gneuf, i am trying to get the 640 x 480 resolution to work but am having no luck: my camera setup is as follows: source:remote function:mocord enabled:checked FPS:5 remote host name:user:password@ip remote host port:80 (the port they where all sending video traffic through by default ... snc-m1w ...

any progress on adding 640x480 compatibility ? would really love to see this happen ... we have SNC-M1's running around the clock on zoneminder and it is great other than the lack of resolution for the time being :)

missing stills huh ? i would venture you are missing either libjpeg (libjpeg62 and libjpeg62-dev package on ubuntu) or netpbm utilities ... if i remember correctly the netpbm package had some involvment in thumbnail creation ... let us know if you trace it down ... my problem is solved, it was a cgi ...

solved, ubuntu's apache config is done so that the default cgi-bin is not in the web directory so i would of had to enabled it with a ScriptAlias in the sites-enabled directory .... instead i justed cp'ed zms and nph-zms into /usr/lib/cgi-bin and all is working great now ... thats where the ubuntu ...
