Looks like you dont have permission to the directories its trying to install to. Make sure you run "sudo make install" and enter your users password.

How would you recommend I go about this? sorry to be a pain but filters were the only way I saw to do this

SSH access should be enabled on the live cd, to connect to it just download an ssh client such as putty.exe
