IT WORKS!!!!!

I could've sworn that shmget error was familiar, so I rechecked the FAQ, and saw the reference to ipcrm. I got the shmid via ipcs, then removed the shared memory segment via: ipcrm -m <shmid here> Now I can see the static JPEG I have at /var/www/snapshot.jpg. Something so simple... I can't believe I ...

I increased the shared memory to 256 MB, and I got an interesting error: zm_debug.log.02676 11/06/06 12:26:30.426229 zms[2676].INF-zm_debug.c/304 [New Debug Level = 4, New Debug Log = /tmp/zm_debug.log.02676] 11/06/06 12:26:30.428014 zms[2676].DB1-zms.cpp/84 [Query: mode=jpeg&monitor=1&scale=100 ...

I've set up live log feeds at http://drdandvm.dyndns.org:8080/ so it'll be easier for me (or anyone interested) to investigate zm's logs. It seems like it is, in fact, a shared memory issue. This from zmwatch.log: 11/05/06 22:20:59.559876 zmwatch[16503].ERR [Can't get shared memory id '7a6d2001', 1 ...

It would be more helpful to either grant access to your zm box or forward a port to the camera so we (James or myself) can do the digging. As I was glancing through the post (Like usual  ) I thought you might have provided access to the camera and not a file you captured and placed on a ...

That doesn't say anything. My Apache2 server is serving correct headers, and I renamed the file. Here's exactly what I did. cd /var/www wget http://192.168.10.9/snapshot.html mv snapshot.html snapshot.jpg That's just a flat JPEG file. But it does show that something is, in fact, wrong with zms ...

Ok.... here's the URL to the snapshot (I changed the extension from .html to .jpg). http://drdandvm.dyndns.org:8080/snapshot.jpg I changed the monitor to "File" and pointed it to this file (/var/www/snapshot.jpg) and I'm still getting a broken image. Perhaps someone else would have better luck? If I ...

For the third time: The file has a ".html" extension, but it is not an HTML file. It is the JPEG image snapshot. The programmer who set up the NC800 Web Interface was on crack when they put it together. Who knows? All I can say is that it is a JPEG image and not an HTML file. Opening the file ...

I thought the path was everything to the right of the hostname. Is it not?

EDIT: I know the path says "snapshot.html", but it's not an HTML file. It's a JPEG.

there are other posts on here about missing headers in certain cams that wget and ff can handle but zm currently cannot. If you want to prove its your cam or zm, if you make your cam public ill test it on my server and see what happens Now that you mention it, I think I remember reading something ...

Are you sure? I double-checked my settings. They are identical. I've set the camera to a very low resolution to avoid any potential memory issues. The camera's resolution is 160 x 120. I have three options for "Resolution": VGA, CIF, QCIF. In ZoneMinder, I've set the host name to the IP address of ...

Shared Memory Issue

I've gotten a GadSpot GS800. I've gotten ZoneMinder uninstalled and reinstalled, everything works great except for actually seeing an image, just like before. When I look in /var/log/messages, I still see this: Nov 3 19:04:00 localhost zmwatch[12564]: INF [Restarting capture daemon for camera9 ...

I called GadSpot Sales and inquired about their cameras that would work with ZoneMinder on "Linux", and I think I stumped the salesperson. They'd never heard of ZoneMinder. Well, they have now!!! ;) The salesperson said that all of their IP cameras supply at least an M-JPEG feed which can be ...

What do you mean by "ready made distro"? Are you referring to the Live CD?

Whatever a "ready made distro" is, it has to support madwifi for me to be able to use it.
