Camera Management URL

It's been a while since I've posted, and I don't know if this an existing feature... (I'm running an older version.) Somewhere, I would like to have a link in ZM to the web interface of a network camera. That way I can make adjustments to the camera without having to remember the camera's IP, uesrna...

First off, Welcome to Zoneminder! Don't fret if you can't find the information right away on support, it's coming along, but still a work in progress. The camera you're looking at is an analog camera. The ability to record an Analog Camera on Zoneminder requires a compatible capture card. I'd check ...

A lot depends on your situation. How cold does it get? Well below the recommended operating tempeature of the camera you're looking at? You will be placing the camera into a housing, correct? The heaters in external housings are there to try and keep an environment in which the camera can operate. S...

New Cameras on the Market.

New Cameras are now available, and I'd love to hear if anybody had the chance to try them with Zoneminder. In fact, I'd love to know if any new camera models become available. Here's what I found: Axis 209FD series - This is a tiny dome camera... Currently available in a "Vandal Resistant"...

I tried the cheap-o D-Link DCS-1110... and it doesn't work with Zoneminder. Avoid this camera. There may be D-Link cameras that are POE and work with ZM, but I doubt it. The Panasonic is probably okay, but I haven't tried one yet. I use the POE Toshiba IK-WB02A. Nice camera. You can buy it in a kit ...

Capturing the image with Zoneminder should _not_ be a problem with these cameras. I have captured images from cameras with a 1280x960 resolution using Zoneminder successfully. Your Axis 223m is defiantly higher resolution, but you should be fine. As for CPU horsepower required, you may find your pro...

Fixed. The explicit path did in fact cause the problem. Setting it back to just 'events' fixed it completely. I did the change because of an earlier problem, and I thought it might help. I also read somewhere on this forum that it can help sometimes. Can't remember where I read that. Can't recommend...

zm.conf: ZM_PATH_WEB=/var/www/html/zm In the Path Tab, I have all the defauls except I put the explicit path for ZM_DIR_EVENTS as my events are being stored on a different partition: ZM_DIR_EVENTS = /var/www/html/zm/events I can't find (I've grepped everywhere) this /var/www/html/var anywhere. All t...

Can't View Events, odd entry in /var/log/httpd/error_log

Odd problem: I can't view events. I can view my live streams, but not anything saved. Also, I have the following error(s) in my var/log/httpd/error_log... [Wed Jul 11 07:40:46 2007] [error] [client 10.0.1.38] File does not exist: /var/www/html/var, referer: http://10.10.0.19/zm/index.php?view=frame&...

Okay, this camera is an analog camera, so yes: ZoneMinder can capture the images using a capture card. About control: The PDF does explain that the camera can be controlled by either a remote control unit, or a PC using a serial interface. If you wanted to control it with the remote, you won't need ...

I could be wrong, but I think these are MPEG4 only cameras. If they are, then they are not currently supported by ZM.

I don't get the stream. I get the jpeg image.

Never had a problem with it.

Question though, do you find the image on the WB02A a bit... "fuzzy"? Also, do you loose focus at night?

Well, I did a quick check< and this might fit the bill: Dlink DCS-3420 and DCS-45 Housing. I'd recommend testing it with ZoneMinder first. While the DLink Camera Comparision Page says it supports MJPEG streams, I'd still call them and either ask for a demo unit, or get a demo online and test it out....

This sounds a lot like my setup: Planned for 10 cameras, but knew we would end up doing more. We look to be doing 22+ cameras now. Luckily, we looked ahead and built big. Our system: Dual Core Xeon Woodcrest 2.0Ghtz. Shortly afterward, the Quad core came out. Defiantly, in general, more cores are be...

I can't seem to find information directly on the Canon website, so I'll ask you: Is it a IP or an Analog camera? If it's IP: Can you capture an image from it using an internet browser? Are you looking for PTZ support, or just image capture capability? Some cameras are PTZ controlled using Serial com...
