Re: BlueCherry BC-08240A
Just FYI, the MJPEG encoder on this card will not support deinterlacing. Only the MPEG4|H.264 encoder will. Also, make sure you are using the latest driver (https://github.com/bluecherrydvr/solo6x10). Previously you linked to a PPA, which hasn't been updated in quite some time.

Re: /dev/video0 is missing
For the record you need to use the Github driver, as the PPA hasn't been updated in six months:

Re: Specing a server for 104 cameras
104 cameras is going to be alot for any software. Another thing to think about is this: Zoneminder records one jpeg image for every frame. If you have 104 cameras recording 5FPS, that's 520 images saved per second, or 31,200 per minute. By default, Zoneminder does not support on-camera motion ...

'coke' / Scott Pircher has passed away.
Just FYI, 'coke', or Scott Pircher as some of you may know him, died today ( http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_230410256986071 ). He used to be active on the Zoneminder forums (if you count 518 posts as active) - http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/search.php?keywords=&terms=all&author=coke&sc ...

Re: DS-4008HCI 8CH DVR card
Just because a Linux driver *might* be available doesn't mean squat. It has to be Video4Linux 2 complaint AND produced uncompressed streams or MJPEG streams.

Re: Bluecherry MPEG4/H.264 cards
Ok. Now this is probably blasphemy on this forum, but are there any suggestions of free Linux software to save and manage just the MPEG4 streams? For this particular application, a low-power system that just saves compressed video to disk will be fine, I don't plan on using any motion detection or ...

Re: Bluecherry MPEG4/H.264 cards
The MJPEG encoders will work with Zoneminder. The compressed stream(s), audio input, on-board motion detection, video / audio output will not be supported. Great, thanks! Next question, for Zoneminder is it more CPU-efficient to use something that provides MJPEG output (such as the Bluecherry ...

So even the small budget PV-143 is also 3.3v If that is the case I might as well just give up looking for a suitable card here in the uk, and buy the PV-143 . I know at the time of posting that the PV-143 is out of stock. Actually, I need to reword my previous answer. The following cards are 3.3V ...
