downgraded to 4.0 - no problems at all.....

doing a bit more reading problem may be because I have installed mysql 4.1.5 has anyone else got a working system based on mysql 4.1.5?

Is it worth downgrading to 4.0?

Sorry -I am running Suse 9.1

I installed PHP 4.3.9 from the source with:

./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs --with-mysql

I am also running Apache2.

Just installed everything it all appears to been installed ok. However when I try and connect to my webserver I receive the following message Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client in /usr/local/apache2/htdocs ...
