Runaway event caused by missing ONVIF event

I am experimenting with ONVIF triggers (specifically the AI-driven person detection of a Reolink doorbell) and spotted this evening that an event was stuck in an alarm state and ended up recording for 10 minutes (consuming 300MB) despite the actual 'action' being over in only a few seconds. Looking ...

Re: Multiple ONVIF_Alarm_Text entries?

That'd be great if you do get the opportunity. Thank you!

All cameras appearing 'Offline' in 1.37.63~20240820161032-jammy

Just upgraded to v1.37.63~20240820161032-jammy from ppa:iconnor/zoneminder-master and am finding all cameras appearing as 'Offline' in the console despite actually all running without issue (and nothing jumping out at me in the logs). Downgrading back to 1.37.63~20240816.80-jammy reverts back to ...

Multiple ONVIF_Alarm_Text entries?

I am experimenting with tapping into the built-in detection device functionality via ONVIF and wondered if I can specify multiple ONVIF_Alarm_Text options? For example, Reolink offers the likes of MotionAlarm, PeopleDetect, Visitor (= doorbell presses) etc and I'd like to cherry pick multiple event ...

Re: Cannot switch monitor tabs in Chrome following update

Aagh... it's working now! Apologies for the noise. I don't know if I did anything or whether it was the passage. Or of course simple user error. If it happens again (seems unlikely now) I'll do as suggested and look for errors.

Re: Overactive logging

Aha - found that this is a known issue/behaviour as per viewtopic.php?t=30902 and that it'll settle down once the first interval (10000 frames in my case) is reached.

Overactive logging

I have finally updated from 1.34.25 to 1.36.34 and beginning my journery discovering what changes there are. One thing I've noticed straight away is how wild the logging is, and by this I mean I am getting updates regarding each camera seemingly every second: Aug 19 16:06:09 dellt20 zmc_m27[33088 ...

Cannot switch monitor tabs in Chrome following update

This has all the makings of a terrible support request but I'll give it a shot just in case it's an obvious one to you all. I have just updated my Ubuntu OS from 20.04 to 22.04 and in the process also updated Zoneminder from 1.34 to 1.36. Everything is generally working fine however I have a rather ...

In all honesty I probably read this tip from someone else!

Re: zones to enable or disable by time

Normally I don't touch threads that have already started to smell slightly. But in this case, I'm reaching for every possible synergy, because it's very surprising that this topic has so little appeal. I'm pretty sure you can already do this with cron. Unfortunately, the "run states" don't seem to ...

What's the problem you're trying to solve? Is it an issue for you having these false positives?

Re: %EL% is for Time what is the variable for Date?

Looking at the source suggests there isn't an explicit 'date' variable. Is it definitely not also included when asking for the 'time'? (I'm guessing not otherwise you probably wouldn't have asked but thought it worth double-checking in case you'd just assumed!)

Re: GUI always reporting run state as 'STOPPED'

Thanks to Issac and his replies to my bug report this has now been fixed. It was down to me having ZM_PATH_SOCKS specified twice and, specifically, that the second value of /tmp/zm was overwriting the /var/run/zm value that it'd should've been. Removing the erroneous setting restored proper GUI ...
