I can confirm that if you use nph-zms, Apache2 will eat all your memory and Cpu even Cpu's if you have a dual core.

To solve that I have set the ZM_PATH_ZMS = /cgi-bin/zms in the startscript.
since that moment I never saw the problem again.

Just one question.

when you look at your events, do you use the actual size or do you try to view them in 2X the real size ?

At home I can't view events if I choose another resolution than the one used to record the event.

I have got exactly the same message. I solved this by changing the size of the monitor. I have set 352 x 240.
