Sensoray 812 works
I just dropped an 8-channel PCI-E Sensoray 812 into my Ubuntu 10.04 ZM 1.24 system without incident. I kept one BT8x8 based PCI board to have 9 channels, potentially each at 30 fps. Previously I was using three PCI boards (BT8x8 & SAA713x) and a bunch of USB Kworld "EZ-Cap" dongles. The USB dongles ...

Ubuntu 10.04 2.6.32-34 kernel upgrade broke ZM
Just a heads up, I installed the recent Ubuntu 10.04 kernel update yesterday and it broke ZM/Apache. Rebooting to the previous 2.6.32-33 cured all issues. I'd not seen any issues with it on another system that doesn't run ZM. I don't have time to investigate further right now, but something might be ...

Re: Video format Android phone can play?
Bump, nobody Emailing videos to Android?
I'm encoding FFMPEG mpeg4 320x240 at 3 fps.
They play great in Windows or Linux.

Re: Creative webcam works in gstreamer, not ZM :(
What is sys::mmap?
Its a USB webcam, if remote I believe it would be called a netcam, that installs as a V4l2 device. Using gstreamer it works by default at 640x480 or I can get 320x340 with a "capsfilter" in the gst-launch command.

Re: /dev/video0 now missing after working fine for months
There should be messages in dmesg about finding your video card after boot up. If they are not there that is the problem -- driver missing with new kernel? wrong module versions? Hard to tell what is wrong, but if the driver modules are not being loaded for your card it can't work. If the driver ...

Re: Creative webcam works in gstreamer, not ZM :(
Changed it rebooted, no difference.a value of 268435456 is normally what I suggest
I can live with 320x240 images, what bothers me is that the webcam works using gstreamer (v4l2) but not zoneminder

Re: /dev/video0 now missing after working fine for months
What does ls /dev/vid* show? I've had problems with udev changing the device mappings for hard drives and cameras. Have you installed any "security updates" Its possible an updated driver now recognizes a built in webcam which now gets /dev/video0 moving your card to /dev/video1. I had this happen ...

Video format Android phone can play?
Zoneminder 1.24.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 is working well. My wife got a smartphone (Android 2.2 I think) but unfortunately it can't play the video clips in the attached Emails I believe I'm using either mp4 or H264 in an avi wrapper. Files playback fine on Windows and Linux so I expected it to work on ...

Creative webcam works in gstreamer, not ZM :(
I've an old Creative PD1030 USB webcam that installs as /dev/video1 when I plug it into Ubuntu 10.04 with zm1.24.2 from the repo. It works fine with gst-launch -v v4l2src device=/dev/video1 ! autovideosink. The verbiage from gst-launch says its 640x480 YV12 framerate=100/1. I don't see YV12 as a ...

Re: 4 port USB frame grabbers
I'm using 4 single camera USB capture devices with zoneminder. They are K-World USB2800D, about $25 each from NewEgg. Work very well. They have composite and S-Video. I tried using them as dual cameras switching inputs but the overhead of switching barely allowed 3 fps. When using composite and S ...

Problems with filters
I'm having some problem with filters. I have a simple filter setup to send Email on alarm frames > 20 and stop after 1 match. I've set the filter to run in the background and set the background time to be 90 seconds under options. This works well except that my zones overlap and I'd only like one ...

Re: Hauppauge PVR150 working (concept)
USB 1.1 barely supports 320x240 30 fps video. I have an old Haupauge WinTV USB. It does work with Linux but is mostly more trouble than its worth because of the poor bandwidth. I'm not sure if the Kworld thing will even work with USB 1.1 I've no USB 1.1 ports to even try it with anymore, although ...

Re: Hauppauge PVR150 working (concept)
Clever, but it sure seems like a lot of work when you could just junk the PVR-150 and spend $30 for a Kworld DVD Maker USB 2.0 capture device and hook your handicam to it and get 30 fps or what ever lower rate you'd like. I'm running four of them on Ubuntu 10.04 and so far they've worked very well ...

Re: x10 triggering
Thanks for the script, it'll be a big help to me as I don't know much Perl.
You can start the script from a cron job, the @reboot specifier would seem perfect.
What are your permissions on the script?
I'm still a bit fuzzy on how this is supposed to work.
