New Kernel or Nvidia problems?

I've run ZM with Nvidia before and it worked fine. I just got ZM working and compiled an Nvidia kernel 2.26.25.4. I didn't change anything that would affect my lmlbt44 (bttv chipset). But it just hangs when stopped. I'm wondering if this is some new kernel problem or nvidia module incompatibility ...

I have run both previously -- a manual install and from the .deb package. The newest installs were on newly installed Debian machines. I meant I could export the video as files and download them and they were playable. The problem was in the zmfilter file. Using the older version listed in the ...

Copying the old zmfilter.pl to replace the newer version worked for me.

It's definitely not calling a file. ~$ tar -cvf bob.tar.gz tar: Cowardly refusing to create an empty archive Try `tar --help' or `tar --usage' for more information. tar -cvf bob.tar.gz bob bob/ $tar -cvf bob.tar.gz bob.nofile tar: bob.nofile: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: Error exit ...

I just installed from source. I'm getting the same error from the filter for uploading files "cowardly refusing to create empty archive."

Is the ftp upload working for anyone?

I didn't find the cgi-bin in apache2.conf; httpd.conf is empty, conf.d is a directory. I just copied the /var/www/cgi-bin files to /usr/lib/cgi-bin.

little cgi-bin/nph-zms issue/ people have fixed this, how?

Zoneminder isn't showing images. I get the message "The requested URL /cgi-bin/nph-zms was not found on this server." I am running Debian and installed zm from source. nph-zms is in /var/www/cgi-bin/nph-zms. I looked at apache2.conf2 and the lines for addhandler and cgi weren't commented out. They ...

Unfortunately, there isn't a .deb for amd64 in the downloads sections. I'll try compile one this weekend; or just compile and install from source (skipping the .deb making).

The images are going to the right place. It's the ftp upload that's not finding the created mpg's. The images and mpg's are there but the program is not giving tar a path (or the right path variable). $ tar -cvf testt.tar tar: Cowardly refusing to create an empty archive Try `tar --help' or `tar ...

aptitude install zoneminder mmmm. Maybe I should try a different repository? (the packages should be identical.) I believe it's a bug and I'll report it. Details: in ZoneMinder 1.23.1, line 713 of scripts/zmfilter.pl defines $arch_image_path as a relative path. In version 1.23.2, it appears to be ...

cameraname/usr/share/zoneminder/events

Is ZM trying to get files for the archive at cameraname/usr/share/zoneminder/events or
/usr/share/zoneminder/events?
It's not finding any files and strace shows it's looking at cameraname/usr/share/zoneminder/events?
This is for Debian 1.23 (most recent).

That happened to me as well. I thought the whole the was hosed and started over from scratch. Doh.

But I have had to
chmod 666 /dev/video0 everytime I reboot now
and I haven't been able to upload via ftp (it's not finding files (or the wrong files have been specified). Any such experience?
