Re: Discussion: WEBcams or IPcams?
I found a great/cheap IPcam from Axis http://www.axis.com/products/cam_205/index.htm It costs about 200 euro's. If any of you can find it cheaper elsewhere, please let me know! I'm a bit strange, since I found Zoneminder I'm all about 'securing' my home. I want to put camera's all over the place ...

'perl zmconfig.pl' gives an error
I finally came to a point where I installed all needed files (including devMySQL and devJPEG etc.) then I finally could compile/install zoneminder. I configured it with: "./configure --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql-standard-4.1.0-alpha-pc-linux-i686/ --with-webdir=/var/www/html --with-cgidir=/var/www ...

Zoneminder on older PC's
I want to use Zoneminder in combination with Debian3.0 (minimum install) on 2 pc's. I was wondering how many USB-webcams I can hook up to them (640*480 @ 25 frames/s or 5 frames/s)
PC1: 166Mhz (no MMX), 32 RAM, 1 GB HD, 100Mbit/s ethernet
PC2: 350Mhz, 64RAM, 6 GB HD, 100Mbit/s ethernet

Remote storage | Client/server-system
Remote storage Couldn't it be possible to create a kind of remote-storage system? Through FTP or just Samba-shares? So that you can install the USBcam on a slim system 166Mhz,32RAM,1GB HD and you can save the 'alarm' on another system in Xvid/Divx/MPEG/SVCD format... (a system with 200 GB HD) Client ...

Windows/Linux hybride | Security | Video
I would like to ZoneMinder to be available to Windows-systems too. So that one can hook up webcams to Windows-systems AND Linux-systems, and afterwards can look at in 1 program. I would also like to see a beef up in security on the streaming media, if it is possible. So that one can look 'through ...
