grandtecs are screwey
Grandtec cameras seem to have issues some [most] days. I can get 15fps on low / medium quality, other days i get .5 fps. I haven't quiet figured out with experimentation what settings cause it to work and which ones don't. I haven't even been able to get it do 5fps again on high quality. I've tested ...

yipee it works!
Ok. I got it working. The problem is well the firmware is buggy and it can't handle too many connections to the /still.jpg path. The camera just dies after a while. I'm using 1.7EU firmware. The Grandtec.com.tw site is down, and the other localities site's are pathetic. There is meant to be a 2.1 2 ...

grandtec ip camera III - mjpeg works?
Hi there. Just trying to get one of these cameras working. I'm using the japanese SMID jpeg library and I am having trouble trying to read mjpeg streams. I haven't tried it with the conventional JPEG lib just yet. The system works using the url /still.jpg but not with video.cgi 10/03/07 11:03:21 ...

who said you need to change anything
Zoneminder can do this already I beleive without changing much! The only thing you need to do is change the startup (zmpkg zmdc) scripts to only run the monitors that on on each host. Or this can be done by making sure that ssh is used to start capture / analyse on the remote hosts. Ssh should use ...

netpbm problems
Phil, Netpbm is OK now. My issue caused by it not playing nice with the libjpeg-mmx I had installed, even after it was recompiled against the new jpeg headers. The people at freebsd say in their package description that libjpeg-mmx is NOT a drop in replacement for jpeg-62b. I guess your lucky it ...

libjpeg-mmx update
Phil, (sorry got your name right this time!) libjpeg-mmx.so is a gentoo package and a debian package I beleive too. I don't know how up to date the fork from libjpeg is but I beleive it was done way back in 98 and I don't know how much they update it. I do know that the capture daemons at least ...

Request: modifiy dynamic linking to link to libjpeg-mmx
Phil, I finally got your system installed. Depending on the word of a large global corporation, I might a job to install a zoneminder site (20 monitors), which I am going to intergrate with a MMS altert interface I have been writing, if not, well I can't see myself involved heavily with zoneminder ...

fixed
I installed zm-1.20.1, and that solved the problem. I am getting streaming video in netscape now, and zmu binary isn't segfaulting. I was sure I did it before, but I recompiled libjpeg with less optomization... knowing now that my problems weren't necessarly caused by libjpeg-mmx i'll probably give ...

new install report: zmu always segfaulting, jpeg-mmx works!
Hello, I've tried reinstalling zoneminder binaries quiet a few times, and zmu keeps segfaulting. All the other daemons run fine, and capture / motion sensing is working fine. As zmu segfaults, I can't view monitors or create thumbnails. The image directory is set to "images" in the zm database and ...
