I switched to monitoring images at 320x240 and it worked wonderfully. I think think the 640x480 images are just too large to manipulate quickly. I am going to add alot more ram and give it a try. After solving shared memory issues by increasing kernel.shmmax to "0x3000000" I have got a working application monitoring an Axis 2100 over the internet. I also tried with a Panasonic WV-NM100 I have here on the LAN but keep getting SELECT TIMEOUTS ...
