Re: Vivotek IP7142 stream /video.mjpg not working / black sc
I have a basic configuration for a Vivotek 7142. There is no password on the Vivotek (because I'm testing). The monitor screen is just black, no image. In source, the source is red. What am I doing wrong that causes ZoneMinder to just see a black screen? I think the problem is that ZM cannot read ...

hi gilles,
how did you get ZM to read the 7130 vivotek's MPEG video stream?

Re: problems with chinese IP camera
The camera probably has to be on the same subnet as ZM is. Algenon How do I determine that? The zoneminder machine is 192.168.123.102, but it's also a public-facing webserver and I access the zoneminder control panel using the external domain name. Then the camera is already on the ZM subnet. Can ...

Re: Path for Chinese IP cameras?
Hmm ... minor update. I have the camera working but only at 320 x 240 res, which I think is the setting for mobile phones. It has a mobile phone view utility. Would have been helpful if a manual had been provided. Who here is a HTML code guru 'cos I'm surely not? Algenon EDIT: The scource path is ...

Re: Path for Chinese IP cameras?
Suggestions: Use the ie ui to see if there's a snapshot or similar button to a static jpg. View the source on the camera's http pages, something might be hidden in there. Try some random paths in desperation. I have been trying most of your suggestions on and off all weekend. These are a number of ...

Re: Path for Chinese IP cameras?
Thanks Flash The URL does not work in FF. It asks for Quicktime (in its dreams). I do think that IE wanted to install an update of Active-X prior to it working, or at least a program called ClientOCX. If you have any ideas of a workaround I would be interested in trying it. As I'm sure more and more ...

Re: Path for Chinese IP cameras?
Thanks DREMA, I have tried a combination of your suggestions without luck ... so far. Will keep working on them though. The URL I use gives the cameras web page. Here is a screenie of it; http://www.postimg.com/image/38000/photo-37291.jpg Just click on the image for a full size. So far I have not ...

Re: Path for Chinese IP cameras?
Well, I found out that the 720p camera streams both M-JPEG and H.264 at 1280x720 pixels. http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/richard-shaw/product-detailpexJbKrkbBcM/China-Magapixel-High-Resolution-Network-IP-Camera-531M-531MW-.html If that gives anyone any clues as to how I can get this working in ...

Re: Path for Chinese IP cameras?
Hi Kevin, I have not been able to get the hi-res one to work in ZM. This one: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/h-264-720p-2-4ghz-wifi-network-internet-surveillance-ip-cctv-megapixel-camera-with-sd-rj45-47856 The quality from it is excellent (for a camera like this). I cannot post an image from it apart ...

Re: Path for Chinese IP cameras?
Thanks Flasheart,
I can access the /image.jpg setting in IE8 so I will try later with ZM.
The first camera uses a H.264 MPEG 4 video stream, I think so it may be a bit more complex.
Regards ... Algenon
EDIT: Thanks also PacoLM for fast reply.
