rtsp native support?
Is there any ETA for rtsp native support in zoneminder? I bought these gadspot n1250 without fully doing my research and now of course I'm regretting it. I used the instructions here http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11475 in an attempt to capture the stream but am running into ffmpeg ...

How do I use a 2.4ghz wireless (NOT wifi) with ZM?
I bought a First Alert 550 2.4ghz wireless usb camera. It has a 2.4ghz receiver that connects via usb. lsusb reveals: Bus 006 Device 006: ID eb1a:2861 eMPIA Technology, Inc. But, I can't seem to figure out how to communicate with it. When I do a diff between ls /dev before and after I plug it in, I ...

Awesome! Got it to work. Guess I didn't go low enough.
I increased the kernel shared memory max:
I wonder why that didn't work. Is that number in bytes?
I increased the kernel shared memory max:
Code: Select all
alan@desktop:~$ sudo sysctl kernel | grep shmmax
kernel.shmmax = 67108864

hmm ... that's frustrating. Maybe I can still help though. Did you try turning on debug mode (from the web panel)? Set it to debug level 1, restart ZM and check your logs directory for a bunch of files. Paste the output of some of them here Also, if you modify the kernel shared memory max, you need ...

Uh. Okay. Well I'm not for sure what is going on. I mean I've chmod'ed 777 /dev/video0 and still get the errors. I've sudo chmod 4755 /usr/bin/zmfix as said here http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu_7.04 with no results.
I'm at a total lost!

Well, you have not said what cam you have, but it looks like it is a Pixart PAC-207? Right, I really don't know other than what xawtv says. It was on sale for extremely cheap and was packed with "Webcams for Dummies" or something like that. I obviously don't need anything fancy. Try 'xawtv -device ...
