Zoneminder 1.30.2 not working with Amcrest IP2M-842E/ RTP/RTSP missing from Source/Remote Method dropdown

So it would appear that:

Options => Paths => DIR_IMAGES

is where images are recorded when the zoneminder function is set to "record".

On my system, this is "images". Presumably this is the path relative to the web root? Where is this?
It wouldn't appear to be /var/www, as there is not /var/www/images folder.
I can't seem to find anything in

that describes where to find this.
additionally, searching

sudo ls -ltr /zm/cgi-bin # I sued the PATH_ZMS because it had fewer false hits compared with images
sudo ls -ltr /*/zm/cgi-bin
sudo ls -ltr /*/*/zm/cgi-bin
...

finds nothing (to several levels of /*).

How do I locate the web root so I can find my recordings?

the events, images and temp directories are in Ubuntu type setups in /var/cache/zoneminder. This directory must belong to the user ZoneMinder runs under. These are usually symlinked to /usr/share/zoneminder/www

OK, now that I have the record feature enabled, I see that the webpage with the live camera feed now has events with:

ID Name Time Secs Frames Score

and clicking on the event takes me to the archived video.
So I'll just need to figure out how to configure for the desired number of hours of footage to keep, and I think I will have all I want.

I ended up installing zoneminder on a different PC so I had more disk space, so I used:

and can confirm this worked for me.
It avoided the file permission issues I had with
