I've read trough every post on other builds but can't get a handle on a baseline on my build in November for myself
Seen info in the forum about server off lease setups ie. looking at dell poweredge 710
I know there is too many variables, and that is my problem for my seasonal restaurant
Basicly 16 3mp cameras
12 i would like to record 9am-11pm, all motion dect after that time
I don't want to go extreme overkill either consuming lots of power 24/7 -365 @ 570w
2 cameras per cpu core ?
Ram per camera ?
want ssd for system and raid 5 or 10 with drive space I might need
5 fps full record ? and at night time 5fps zone trigger with 30 fps motion detect
Any guidance in the right direction would help
Thanks
Jimmy

Re: Getting a handle on hardware build
First off i would not plan for zm 1.31.x until it is released. 1.30.4 works well!
I run 17 cameras at 320x240 at 5 fps with 5 on mocord 24x7 the rest on modect.
Dell i5 quad 3.2 ghz, 16 gig RAM, 1 TB WD Blue drive that stores 30 days of events and is at 62 percent full. Plenty of power left for more!

Thanks, maybe I'll use the 710 and put the Point of Sale software on it too, with a redundant power supply
