Hello all

I am using Zoneminder 1.30.4 on Ubuntu 16.04.The RTSP stream is not showing fine in VLC.Log shows getStreamCmdResponse stream error: Socket /var/run/zm/zms-318844s.sock does not exist. This file is created by zms


Have PATH_ZMS to /zm/cgi-bin/nph-zms and Display resolution 720x480 as shown in VLC


Kindly guide how to fix it

Two common errors:
PATH_ZMS is not set to /zm/cgi-bin/nph-zms
Camera resolution in Zoneminder does not match camera output. Use VLC (Tools, Media Information, Codec) to check camera Display Resolution.

Socket sento errors are not fatal. Often caused by viewing Montage for a long time. I have several PC's that watch the same montage view and was always getting socket sendto errors. Used a utility in Firefox called Refresh Every to auto reload the web page every 5 minutes. Seldom have those errors now.

Thanks for the message,this is the initial usage.Not even had a view as of now of any cam whose RTSP works fine in VLC.Used addon reload every but shows the same error var/run/zm/zms-318844s.sock does not exist

Look in your apache's access.log and see if you see calls to nph-zms, and what their URLs were, and whether they're 200 or 404 status.

If they're 404, you have a mismatch; reply with the complete access.log line.

Sure Thanks once again it seemed the issue was with the old ffmpeg rather it might have caused to show the error on clearing the cache and updating the ffmpeg the stream began
