ZM LiveCD - kernel version & sup. for SN9C10x based cam?

Post by FAF »

Hi

Sitting a long way from my box and just wondered...

I have installed the LiveCd v1.21.0 on a x86 box, and connected a Logitech usb Webcam (ovl_something), which runs at 2.00 fps. Furthermore I have connected a tiny usb cam (M6323), which is probably based on a Sonix chip, which is not supported.

So I found a driver here: http://www.linux-projects.org/modules/m ... .php?cid=2 which, most likely, makes it possible to use the M6323.

This is from the download description: Stable. Video4Linux2 driver for SN9C10x PC Camera Controllers connected to various image sensors.
THIS VERSION IS OBSOLETE FROM LINUX 2.6.12 ON: USE EITHER THE VERSION IN THE KERNEL (WITHOUT SUPPORT FOR SN9C103) OR THE BINARY-ONLY VERSION (WHICH HAS SUPPORT FOR SN9C103 AS WELL).

I just wondered if anyone use this driver with the LiveCD?

Would be nice to be able to use the webcam described.

Thank you for this nice project. I'm on my second day now and learning.

I saw the answer in another post.

Eventually I will build a box from scratch, maybe using Debian or similar. Just have to find the time somewhere, therefore the LiveCD was godsend.

.... and replace those USB cams with something substantial.

Found this project yesterday. Just think this project is brilliant.

Thank you for your time.
