Frames recorded twice?

Post by tstier0809 »

Hi all:

I have a Trust wireless network camera running under ZM, the ID of the camera is "2" and the name is "trust". The camera is set to RECORD and grabs JPG's @ 320x240 in 24bit colour at 1 frame/sec.

Now I get all images filed twice: they get filed @:
/events/2/<eventname>/xxxx.jpg, AND
/events/trust/<eventnumber>/xxxx.jpg

Any idea why? Any hint where to switch this off?
Gracias!

The eventname folder should really be a symbolic link(shortcut) and not a real folder. So your only recording things once.

Symbolic Link

Thanks Cordel - maybe I screwed things up by deleting the two folders and then recreating them again after I mounted a Hard drive to \events. I am positive that both contain the same files. Any hints on how to fix this?

Thanks

That might be the case, but maybe not: it sounds as if you're not entirely familiar with how links work in Linux.

Do ls -i in each directory, and see if the inode numbers are the same.

They should be, and if they're not, then yes, it probably is because of the changes you made.

You are right, I am not (at all!) familiar on how links work in Linux. I just deleted both directories, and ZM recreated them the way they should be: one directory, one link, I check with the command you provided.

Thanks!
